Well with the iphone 4 it adnerves me when my emails are late, never show up, don't have blackberry search funtion, take up so much data polling, causing the phone to not ring, hardly any options to do anything with the emails, and catagories. And that's just email. Texting is simplier, faster and more reliable on BB.I can download media from free file sharing sites directly on my BB that sync directly into media folders. On the iphone you either buy it, load it on a crappy browser interface and play it from there which sucks or transfer it in Itunes from your pc which is a added hassle. The BB OS7 browser does everything the iphone browser does and more. Texted can be resized to fit you ,(mine is at 21), zoom columns text or photos specifically which iphone doesn't do. There is content that plays on the BB super smooth. The BB browser uses less data than the iphone do to compression. The speed is very close the biggest differance is seen on smaller pages.Functionality is amazing on the BB. I can smoke thru stuff on the iphone because it is good, but its like lightning on the BB.Call Quality is very noticably better on the BB. 3G/4G signal strength is greatly better on the BB. The Iphone lies with bars it show 2 bars of service as soon as you try to use it it will drop to 1 and never connect. Incoming calls on the iphone are extremely unpredictable, whether its data causing it or just plain connection problems it is a freaking hassle to get in touch with someone with the iphone. My wife has one as well as myself , if I want to talk to her I have to call 3-5 times to get hers to ring, same with mine.Standby battery life could possibly be a little better on the iphone but who has a phone to not use it.If you use it there's no doubt the 9900 with 7.1 will put the smack down on the iphone.Screen size on the 9900 doesn't leave me wanting anything especially once text is customized. The camera is damned on both phones, for text shots the iphone wins and on everyday shots the 9900 wins IMHO. Now the 9810 or 9860 is a differant story.APPS, honestly if I wanted to play a game I'LL do it on my freaking 60' flat screen not a phone. But when I go on road trips with my family I can hand my BB or iphone to the kids to shut them up, it really doesn't matter which one. The games play well on both and the selection is big enough on both to get what you want. I don't think the productive portion of society is too concerned about which phone has the most games, seriously. Productivity apps are in great supply on both and what I've come to see is alot of bloated apps lately coming out for the iphone that really are more time consuming than using the web browser. Its like every org out there is racing to an app, and more importantly they really serve no purpose other than publicity not functionality. So needless to say I have more reason to pick BB over iphone. I have had them both now together for 4 months and I use the Iphone mostly only for navigation so I don't tie up my BB while I drive or if I need a flashlight and my BB is in the other room. Looking into a standalone navigator and a streamlight now!!

My iPhone 4 was good on battery but my 4S is another thing. I seem to get more out of the 9900 them my 4S. The latest leak is a much better improvement then when I had the 9900 in Sept.

I wasn't able to access my mobile me address on the 9900.

I have owned the Bold for a week now. I put the sim card back in my iPhone yesterday.

The Bold is a wonderful phone, but as much as I love the keyboard, there is far more the Bold doesn't do that missed more than the keyboard. It will be a phone I use if something happens to my iPhone, or if I am in the mood for a change.

The screensize alone kills me. I can't take the smaller screen. Also, there are several apps I consider indespensible that either I can't get on BB or the BB version is so crappy it's almost unusable (TAPATALK - THAT MEANS YOU). Also, considering the much smaller screen, the battery life is atrocious. I have never had to charge my iPhone halfway through the day in the almost 9 months I've owned it, and I had to put the Bold on a charger every day I used it this week halfway through my day. Even after I swapped out the battery (showing there was something wrong with the first one), the new battery that wasn't faulty lasted about 3 hours longer before I was needing to charge it. Considering that meant 5pm instead of 2pm...not good. Not good at all, and simply not adequate.

    So...I'm back on iPhone.

Like I said, it's a great phone, but after having a larger screen I can't go back. It's nice for a change of pace but I couldn't imagine it being used week in and week out...

I totally agree with you. I own an Iphone 4, BB9900 and a Pb. But I swap the sim card From time to time, because I can't commit to one ! I had to pay full retail price for the 9900 and I don't regret it. There are a few things missing on the 9900 like the auto-focus on the camera.

My opinion on those 2 phones, they are running parallel to each other and they are both in first position for me.

This comment right here is the rhetoric I hate. I assure you I (and my husband) feed our family fine on our iPhones. I don't make any more typos than I do on the BB.

It's not a toy. The BB isn't a toy. Neither are toys.
    ...
Its a forum and we can agree to disagree. I understand your point of view, eventho I would not call iphone a toy. I think i know where the rhetoric comes from.. an iPhone is famous and mainly used for media users and games initially... It doesn't mean that it isn't capable for very productive applications. Also you are in a BB forum here and here positive comments are more appreciated(yeah not very objective), that's all.. when I can work as fast and intuitively on a touchscreen and the OS environment then I buy that phone what ever the brand is(not sure about other bb users). I would still choose BB for now. I also am still using samsung Note.. its a good phone companion especially when I need to open a file in a bigger display. and my iPod is for whatever games I need in iOS and docking for music... trust me, if you have everything in one phone.. you will run out of battery quickly, unless you are using samsung note 7.7" which has 5000 mAh battery (abt 4x iphone/9900)

Sorry, I have to ask, why do you need Tapatalk? What's so important about it? I must say I did buy it but I deleted it straight away, it slowed me down.

I have bookmarks set up in my browser that make forums use a lot faster then one app.
Have you seen a version outside of BB? It's unusable on BB, I agree. On android and iOS is brilliant.

I don't mean vs BB app, I mean vs the browser. Why is it better then the browser and bookmarks? I know you need it to be able to upload photos to the forum on an iphone (browser limitation) but what other benefits does it bring?

PS, no, I never had the chance to see it on any other platform, might have a look on youtube.

reene, to each his own. For me if I have to pick bb or iphone. I choose bb no hessitation. Iphone is as most people said, a media phone replaceable by android,pb, Samsung, windows mobile etc... Now tell me how do I replace secure fast cheap email and bbm with keyboard to have conference and work other than bb?

Poppycock.......what does your statement even mean?

A multimedia phone? Can an iPhone send text? Yes. Can an iPhone surf the web? Yes. Can the iPhone send emails? Yes. Can the iPhone open up PDF files in emails? Yes. Can the iPhone open LARGE emails? Yes. Can the iPhone video chat? Yes. Can the iPhone make calls? Yes. Can the iPhone download apps? Yes. Can the iPhone play YouTube videos? Yes. Can the iPhone stream music? Yes. Can you upload music to the iPhone? Yes. Can the iPhone take great photos? Yes.

Can a Blackberry send text? Yes. Can a Blackberry surf the web? Yes. Can the Blackberry send emails? Yes. Can the Blackberry open up PDF files in emails? I think. Can the Blackberry open LARGE emails? NO. Can the Blackberry video chat? NO. Can the Blackberry make calls? Yes. Can the Blackberry download apps? Yes. Can the Blackberry play YouTube videos? Yes. Can the Blackberry stream music? Yes. Can you upload music to the Blackberry? Yes.

I went a little to far with the list.....but I highlighted the main ones. Both devices accomplish the same things. iPhone does it way better then the other. Thats not to say it sucks on the BB......as long as it can do it.......right?

I find it very dumb for the iPhone to have this "Toy" stigma attached to it. Same thing goes for a BB being a "Business" or a "Communicative device"......both devices are both business and communicative.

    For the member "Itsal"

You just said the dumbest thing I ever read on a forum

Owning an iPhone....you cant feed your family? Doesn't really warrant a response.

I also read another dumb comment about not being productive on an iPhone because your downloading games or watching movies or some non sense. I'm curious to know who is making you download these games and movies?

So much "REACH" in this thread its not funny. I understand supporting or believing in RIM but some of the stuff that come out your mouths are unbelievable. Carry on

well for work bold is THE best phone. Workhorse. Fast, efficient..
I had an ipad (sold), an iphone 3G (sold), now samsung note (huge screen, still mistype words.. ridiculous)
I STILL say for work, i mean real work and fast communication. Nothing in the market beat 99xx keyboard + BBM + OS7 7.1.267 except the battery life which could be better than 8-10hrs, maybe less if i'm constantly checking share prices...
Share prices meaning in stocks? Also what do you use to trade? I use TD Ameritrade for trading securities but I use optionsxpress for trading options. One problem though optionsxpress does not work for bold 9900?? Do you know anything about it that could help?

I can go directly to only threads I have participated in to see if there have been replies as well as only the new threads since my last visit. I have 6 boards I participate on regularly and they are all one stop from the control panel. I also get notifications of private messages.

I prefer it much more than on a straight browser. It's one stop for all my boards and keeps me logged in at all times, no token timeouts. It's also all threaded to my screen with no pinch to zoom needed.

I couldn't believe how awful Tapatalk looks on BB compared to the other platforms.

    Speaking about screen size:

I ditched my 4.3 inch screen to go back to a 9650. Going from a huge amazing screen. To a tiny one was a little rough....at first.

Then I got a PlayBook for that. Highly recommend a PlayBook with your new BlackBerry. The phone is the best communications device and the PlayBook is best for media! It's a great combo.

I agree, some of these comments are obviously biased by people blinded by RIM.

I currently use a 9900 after switching from an iPhone 4s, which I loved by the way. I have gone back and forth between iPhone and BlackBerry since the 9000 and 3Gs. I've owned several BlackBerry's since the 7280.

I most definitely prefer the physical keyboard over the touchscreen of iPhone and that alone is what keeps me anywhere near a BlackBerry. The old Bold keyboard and the addition of a touchscreen is what drew me to the 9900.

I like the email provided by the iPhone 100% more than what BlackBerry offers. I don't have to ask to show images on EVERY email I get or ask to load 'more' of the email, its just there as the sender intended for it to arrive.

Not being able to feed your family because you are too busy downloading/playing games and movie on your iPhone relates only to you. If an iPhone prevents you from properly taking care of your family then its obvious you value the iPhone more than the well being of your family and have no self discipline. Just my observation from that comment.

No device will ever satisfy the masses. They will ALL have something that some like and something that some hate and some of those will be strong enough to sway them to a particular device. I'm sure once the iPhone 5 is released, I'll get that and ditch this 9900.

But until then, I'll proudly rock my BlackBerry with an iPod Touch on the side.

My tool to manage my day is my BB. That, of course, is email and texting, but of course it also involves everything from banking to coordinating my travel with my team. Everything in between.

A BB is quite capable of handling all I need. I need plenty more than text or email. I did that on my Razr.

    The first Razr. Circa 2005.

I like to carry different phones. I like the different experiences. And I also like to know different phones' capabilities first hand, not hearing about them on a forum. I was about as anti-Android as anyone could ever be....now I love my Skyrocket. It's a different experience and sometimes my mood changes.

It's not a toy. The BB isn't a toy. Neither are toys.

Insisting on calling it one and insinuating people who use iPhones can't feed their families as well as a BB user (which is how your post reads) is blind fanboyism at best and offensive at worst.

I am so bleeping sick and tired of the toy comment. It's an untrue dead horse. Heaven forbid we have an open conversation with the plus and minuses of both platforms. Noooo IPHONEZ ARE TOYS ZOMGELEVENTY111!!1!1!!

I have games on both phones. I rarely play them. I guess it means that having games on you PB and BB you are a using a toy. *eyeroll*

Try arguing this with the BlackBerry Bold Commercial with the Twins saying, "We Need Tools. Not Toys." Looks like RIM doesn't agree with you, unfortunately. I don't have an Iphone, never used one, but I can understand your point on certain things that you treasure greatly.

Because the one DJ brother guy sounds like Matt Damon in "Team America". Dumb as a stump. Lol. I can't help it - even my husband yelled MATT DAAAAAMON! at the TV the first time he saw it.

Totally judgemental but as spokespeople RIM should have chosen...better. Can't help it.

How has RIM been doing the past few years compared to Apple or Google strictly cell phone speaking?

Not to mention they have lost 2 HUGE accounts the last week or 2 alone to the iPhone.

@berryworshipper: you are answering your own.. Distress.. You said iphone does a few things better than the other phones, meaning in multimedia, right? So do others. And BB a business phone is not a stigma. Its probably the one single reason its still surviving at this moment. Cause main stream people are not business people. They are not stigmas but more categorization. Of course all phones does those things now with their 1ghz plus processor, its like you're carrying a small computer. Its about how well they do it that counts.
