Home screen>>options>>Launch by Typing>>Application Shortcuts

That will give you what you want. You can then also hit the "s" button to initiate a universal search if you need to.

goto Image hosting, free photo sharing & video sharing at Photobucket and setup an account, then upload the photos and copy the link in your post. Bonus is, once set up you are good to go and can upload photos from anywhere.

Unless you already use a photo hosting site?

That's the notification banner, and you can't get rid of it without using a theme.

The search by typing can be disabled in Options but the search section at the top cannot be completely removed. May I ask, why do you need to remove it?
