    All,

Is there a different way to unlock the screen on the Bold 9930 besides having to hit the top button. I don't mean this as a complaint but it would be nice to be able to hit the ole * + Call Button to do a quick unlock.

    Any ideas?

Sounds like it's not locked but in "standby". in Os5 pressing and holding "A" locks the device, then unlock as usual.

    Guys,

Holding A does 'lock' the screen but you have to hit the button on top to UNlock the screen. I was wondering if there was a way to use a combination of buttons to unlock it without having to hit the top key.

    Just being lazy mostly.

there is no way that i know of. you can get a third party app such as auto lock from mobihand or crackberry store, with that you can set it to unlock via conv key or one of the 4 main keys by the trackpad or slide to unlock

hmmm i've tried that before... tried it again just now..

pressing K asks to assign a speed dial when the screen is on
pressing K when locked does nothing.

<shurgs> i was hoping that would work

Or if you have the option in Os7 to turn Dial from Homescreen-Off.
