    Have you tried one of the newer V7.x versions? Specifically one of the 7.1 versions?

    firstly, why to try to alternatives if we are eligible for perfectly working device.
    If it's hardware fault (yes, it is) then RIM should acknowledge it, and replace it.
    They must not ruin the BOLD.

    Why, because people are desperate.

    I agree it is a hardware problem but RIM is not going to admit anything. Just like the keyboard stutttter, they will keep to themselves to avoid responsibility.

    At best RIM is working on software to "get around" the hardware problem and as they have not introduced anything that works yet, this magic might be out of their reach!
