AT&T not releasing the 9900 is driving me NUTS.
I love my 9800, but REFUSE to buy a Bold on eBay for so much money. My 9800 is amazing in every way, just tired of it being SLOW AF.
I played with the 9930 on Verizon and MY GOD. Its super fast. My Torch is just not cutting it. And NO, I will not get the 9810. Had the 9700 prior to my Torch. Not a fan of the sliding form factor.
So until AT&T releases the Bold, I'll get me an iPhone 4.

AT&T only has 3 blackberrys right now, the curve and 2 torches. the torch went on sale for 1cent today for a limited time until sep 15th. AT&T will get all the new blackberrys they are just making us wait because they can. They cant sell a curve and a torch for too long....think about it!

This is a possible theory I have been thinking in my lil head. Well, AT&T I believe has been known for having the best BB's. If somehow they have managed to get RIM to agree so secretely develop a QNX based 9900 for exclusive release on AT&T, it would make sense not to release a BB7 9900. Of course this would mean that it has to have been in development for a while now and AT&T is biding it's time for the release of the Ipone5 in order to force crackberrys to chose. But I guess this is more like wishful thinking than a theory.

does that not mean you`ll have to pay out for a iPhone4? which is what your saying you dont want to do for a 9900?
or you`d have to upgrade in which case you wouldnt be able to upgrade again to the 9900

They want to sell their overstock before they release a new device. When a carrier has an agreement to but a set number of devices they are obligated to buy them. ATT probably has a large stock of the other models and wants to dump them first Verizon does the same thing. The reason Verizon didn't get the Style because they knew it would not sell!

There are lots of people here going nuts. I use the iPhone on occasion, wish it used a full size SIM.

Just relax as the 9900 for AT&T is still a way down the road.

For all the people complaining about the lack of 9900, there are easily more people unhappy they can't ever have a Torch slider on their carrier and it's not going to arrive, so...

See a lot of complaints about AT&T's inability to start selling the 9900. The way I see it, you all have three choices.

    -Buy one unlocked/unsubbed

    -Wait

    -Change carriers

Are there other factors at play, does AT&T have the best network in the States?

So you're going to get an iPhone4 because you can't get the 9900 yet when the iPhone5 will be out in 2 months? The logic alludes me.

So what's the deal? Best Customer Service? Cheapest rates? What is the attraction? Not sure about the US, but in Canada it is fairly easy to get out of a contract.

I would also guess that some customers have awesome grandfathered plans that they do not want to lose. (Data/Included Minutes), makes a little more sense. I have never seen a backlash against a carrier for not coming out with a phone fast enough. Most would say screw it and either change carriers(not many), or just buy a phone from ebay/kijiji/craigslist/etc... or an unlocked one.

Yup, that's another good point. I have a grandfathered unlimited data plan with VZW that I'd not leave.
