    hi there
I'm eligible to upgrade at the end of the month but my contract end in august.
Should I upgrade now to get a 9900 or should I wait in august for the BBX phones?
I'm mostly using my phone to call (duh) emails and music.
    Choices....

well it's your money to spend, it's also your choice if you want to wait or not.
i would pick up the 9900 add a buyout contract to it if possible.
soo, whatever suits you the best.

I would probably lean toward the 9900. Has RIM stated the BBX phone will be available in August?

If you want a keyboard on a BB phone, then get a 9900. The phone coming in August will be touch screen only.

Haven't had any problems with my 9900 and its been awhile, I'd say stick with the 9900 until the bb10 kinks are worked out.

In fact right now I have a old iPhone 3G, I have never used a Blackberry.
How is the music player in the BB, does it work well with a 32gb minisd card?

I have learned my lesson getting a new device on its release date. I got the bold knowing it work out of the box with no real issues.

Haven't had a problem with my 9900 except for the battery drain issue. That was fixed by loading the latest 7.1 for the 9900 Bold. So far so good.

What's wrong with both, if you like both ?

    If I didn't have a 9900 already, I'd say get the 99xx now !

It has the best keyboard I've ever tried and with the later updates works flawlessly -*for me.

I love my 9930. Personally I'd be waiting for BBX to get the kinks worked out before I'd be getting one but that's just me. Really up to you.

the 99xx is far superior to the one you have now. Get it, enjoy it, when the other comes out, you might not like it compared to your 99xx.

Music player works fine on 9900, I'm using a 32Gb micro SDcard synchronised with iTunes through Blackberry desktop software. I just found two minor downsides: the blank space between songs, which can be noticed in albums that have linked songs. Additionally if you use data encryptation in your device, music synchronisation takes ages, and somtimes, when it is played it get stuck randomly for a second or two.

    @OP

Just make up your mind and try it out in the store, buy it. Remember, the 14, 15, 20, 25 or 30 day (depending on store policies) return policy is there to be taken advantage of. If you don't like it, there is the curve and torch, or you could, if you have an older blackberry with the same provider, if it works just great, stay with it.
