Just got a BBB 9930 and when I am adding an email account, the password contains the symbol "^" and others. But when I hit "Sym" to type the rest of my password, "^" isn't there, along with a bunch of other symbols. However, these symbols are there when texting or writing an email.

Is it a security setting? Something I need to do?

    Please advise!

Compose a new email, in the message field hit SYM then its the O key for your ^ , when its in the message field then just highlight it, copy it, then paste it into your password field

    Should work just fine

Yeah, that's my only workaround for that. But what I want to know if there's a perm fix or a security override for that. Is it actually a security feature

    Change your password.
This is what I had to do. It really is silly that the caret isn't available for passwords.

Sadly, I had to do that too with a bunch of passwords. I guess RIM is just too anal about security when it comes to the BB's built-in mail app.

    Thanks guys!
