Hey. I just got a second hand 9900 unlocked (originally was Rogers) and I cannot seem to hear the other caller during a call but the caller can hear me perfectly. I tried updating the software from .261 to .585 but still nothing. Btw, i'm using a Telus sim card. does it have anything to do with anything? Please help! This is getting very upsetting for me. Has anyone else had this issue with this phone??

Are you on mute when you are on a call? Might be a dumb question, but sometimes people accidentally hit the mute button. Maybe before the proximity sensor locks the phone.

Ok sorry. Must be because the device is unlocked to another carrier. Wish I could help further, but that is not my area of expertise regarding BB.

Check your audio setting in "in call settings"

    Set both to normal

try a other operators sim in your device is possible, sometimes it is a network issue. Worst case scenario your mic is damaged.

After extensive troubleshooting I've come to a conclusion that I'm screwed. Gonna have to send it in for repairs to a third party and who knows what guarantees I'll have. Anyways, thanx all for your inputs.

Sounds like the same problem I had with my 9780. It was brand new and after a few days, handset speaker started to crap out.

Just a thought, this happened to me. I am on 7.1, so I'm not sure it's the same issue, but BeWeather (free version) and MeterBerry (paid) are incompatible with something in 7.1, causing the same problem that you had. Deleted them and the phone worked again. I wonder if a rouge app is causing you grief...

I may try .590 now that AT&T has blocked hotspot, but I will say that the battery life on 7.1 is pretty good, never less than 24 hours with moderate usage.
