Can anyone help my 9900 on T-mobile get Data, Tmo says No to me having data
So I was a Verizon customer, but went to Tmobile b/c of their 4 lines for $`120 promotion. 3 of my 4 lines are "modern" phones "iphone, bb 10, etc" and have no problem. However I have a Tmobile branded Bold 9900 and it won't get a data connection. When I go to email setup, it asks about BIS account settings (where as the Verizon Bold I had just allowed me to setup normal email w/o asking about Blackberry Enterprise stuff).
So I called T-mobile, and they said that the 4 for $120 plan is not eligible to have a Bold 9900 on it. They said if I using my 9900 I will only be able to make voice calls and send texts. Nothing that requires data (BBM, Web, Email, etc). Of course they said that I could switch to another, outrageously expensive, phone plan in which they could "enable legacy BB settings" for me and it would work fine.
So that means the BB can work on T-mobile, but is there a way to "force it" to connect to the data network? Can I somehow bypass the request for BB enterprise activation. I've heard about programs that may allow me to reset these, but I am desperate to find a way to connect this phone to the T-mobile towers to get "basic data" so I can get email on it. I don't even care about a web browser, just BBM and Email data please.
I Really don't want to be forced to give up my BB 9900, nor do I want to be held for ransom/extortion by Tmobile.
Please help.
