hey guys
can anyone tell me or even know what the button
between
the volume keys is for? it does not seem to do anything and i can find any settings to program it like a convenience key....
anyone know?

its a play/stop button for media.
Use it when listening to music or watching videos.

It's also a mute button when on a call. There are apps that let you reprogram it (sixtools?). None are included with the OS.

Yep... Shao has Six Tools or Extra Keys. I use Six Tools, but Extrakeys is the more basic of the two.
SixTools - Utils for OS6 and OS7
ExtraKeys - Launch apps with volume and mute keys

Yes I use SixTools to use the buttons as Calender, QL launcher.
