Reporting Bugs (for possible fixes?) on this build.

1/ The backlight brightness at level 70 - bug. Any fix?
2/ Missed Calls / call logs overriding the messaging app in the event of a missed call.

No bugs to speak of from my device either. It's running pretty smooth on .284

Not sure whats the problem, but the problem with the missed calls - is repeatable. A missed call and the messages app will not display messages. Clicking the mail icon shows the call log history. No change if the preferences w.r.t Phone list view & appearance are changed in Phone options..

I haven't noticed any problems on .267.

I would like to try .284 as its just newer. Doubt there will be much difference however.

I haven't face those issues yet but if i do a battery pull the screen timeout gets back to 20 seconds from 10 that i set...

You saying that I haven't checked that.

I set mine to 10 after reading a post about it.

Edit mine must have been set at 40 as its still on 40.

For 1.

For those having the backlight wont stay at level 10 bug, try the below solution:

1) set your screen brightness to level 10, and timeout to 1min.
2) now set your battery saving mode to 'always on'
3) then, proceed to your screen brightness menu, try to set your timeout time to 1 min. Note that your brightness is still 10.
4) lastly, switch off your battery saving mode.
5) reboot.

See if the above works. My screen brightness stayed at 10 even after multiple reboots.

Had tried this, works - but only till the next battery pull or till battery savings mode is next enabled.

In essence, the battery savings mode overrides this setting - which I assume is not as per design (bug rather?).

ive been using os 7.1.0.284 on my bold 9900.
the bbm version is 6.1.0.71.

i'm getting deleted off the group on its own.. i wonder why.. i'm the only admin off the group. still i'm gting deleted :|

hi,
Tried the battery saving and backlight brightness routine and it seemed to work. I personally think leaked .267 is far better than .284 for battery consumption. I have been on .284 for 4-5 days and am looking to get back to the .267, can anyone please give me an official release link to the same. Thanks in advance !

Another bug:
The top bar (the one with the connection icons and the clock) is not getting refreshed automatically.
For example: I'm switching off the radio and the connection indication stays EDGE. Only when I use the track pad to select the top bar, I can see that the radio is off.
Dunno if this is a problem with my device, but I recall getting it after I put my first 7.1

I have not noticed any of these bugs, I have set my battery saving mode to come on at 50%, but I haven't reached less than 80% in 5 days since so??

This os 7.1 .297 leak is probably the best, first ever leak I've installed on my vodafone uk 9900 it's awesome! Right now I've got my battery saver mode on all the time and usually by now it would of gone down to about 85% but it's lasting longer now. Also I haven't found no bugs but one thing that does annoy me is the fact bb traffic isn't available for my device

Well do you live in the UK? Because I'm on vodafone uk and I tried installing it but it says not available for this device on bb app world so if you have a way around it let me know.

I hear others have had similar issues on beta versions on BBM, have you tried using google?

should i reinstall the same OS? my bold 9900 seems a bit off. like it wont recognize my fingers or if i load up twitter or even facebook it will freeze for a minute, or it will freeze up while getting a text message, iv cleared it out and deleted recent apps and it doesnt seem to get any better

Do a wipe and install .714 or .746.
Also do a fresh install of your apps from App World once you are up and running.
Should get you back on track.
