    Hi everyone,

Got my 9900 today, lovely phone, especially the keyboard.

Main gripe is the browser is painfully slow, both on 3G and wifi. Am I missing a trick? Is there something I can do?

I am using .296. Does it get better with later builds?

I am not expecting iOS kinds of speeds but this is just too slow for practical and functional use.

    Any help much appreciated.

    Thanks!

Have you rebboted it yet? Press and hold alt-right shift-del. If its new it may take a few days for the os to settle in. Post back and keep us informed. There are plenty of us happy to help. The browser should not be slow. Mine loads a page in under 3 seconds. But I have had mine for a little over a month. Keep on postin!

Welcome to BlackBerry. LOL. Home of the crappy browser.

As much as I love my 9900... BlackBerry's browser is vintage 1995.

I would update to .439 regardless. But as albee 1 said, it should not be slow, even with .296.

Just upgraded my 9810 to .439 and the browser is lightening fast. Try upgrading your OS to .439.

I don't know what you're talking about. Maybe its your connection, but for me the browser works great no matter where I am. School, work, home, out with friends, it always work great if I want to check something online. I can browse no problem, and websites that would be near impossible to load on my old Bold 9780 now load in 10 seconds or so. (Metalsucks.net is the site I'm talking about.) My phone used to struggle to open their "mobile" site, but now I can load the full desktop version no problem and browse to my hearts content. I don't know what your experience is, but the 9900/9930 has one of the best browsers I've used.

That certainly is not right. My browser on the 9900 is superb.

Try Options / Device / Advanced / Host Routing Table. Then hit the BB button and select 'Register Now'. This downloads the browser Service Book.
