Anybody know when the Brodit car holder will be available for the 9900? Have one for my 9700 and it's a must have for me.

If you're in the UK, Holders and Mounts have them listed here, though delivery estimate is stated 7 - 10 days.

Im using my old Brodit holder for my iPhone4.

Its the adjustable one for iPhone4 with non apple bumper on. The sides are adjustable for width and adjust to fit the 9900. The 'grooves' that the phone slides into (with the RIM hard gel case on) arent quite right but it fits and is secure enough.

As my BB is now in with the insurance, im using a Desire S and have re-adjusted so that it fits that too.

Been looking at this-not sure if it fits or not but price seems good to try?

The 9900 will fit in the 9000 holder but the charging point is slightly misaligned and also the top blocks the unlock button so you would have to modify it to suit.

Good to know. I gather you would not need to use unlock button in holder. Lastly-can the charging point be moved-if not I gather you could just pull the male plug and use this just as a holder?
Looks nicer for the phone than the proclip they are advertising.
    Thanks.

You are the guy on the link on the listing: http://forums.crackberry.com/blackbe...98/index2.html

How did you get the male plug off and did-how did you modify to get charger in? Guess you could melt a hole or just file that part off?
    Thanks!

Yes that's me. I used that as a temp solution until I got the new one.

If the phone locks then you will need to access the button on the top unless you can change some settings? This is why I drilled out the slot at the top.

The charging point is moulded into the holder. It is the old style mini USB for the 9000 so you need to replace it with a micro USB cable. The position is about 2 above the position of the 9900 but I did think it would be possible to enlarge the slot, fit the new cable in and then glue the two covers back in position.

Up to you if you think the effort is worth it or not. I hope that helps.
