Wow, that's a lot of apps!

Given that some of these are jars, I think it's safe to assume that they're not all from BlackBerry World. I don't have time to track down which are in the store, which are not, and where they might be found. Here are the posting guidlines:

    Posting Guidelines

    • If the app is in BlackBerry World, only the name is required.
    • If the app is from an OTA (Over-the-Air) source, provide the name, version number, and a link to the site where you found it.
    • Provide any special instructions required to get an app to work.
    • If it's not obvious what the app does, it would help to explain its purpose (thanks for this idea, Michniks).

If you could post a list indicating which apps can be found in App World and where we can find the others, I'll add them to the list.

Technically, it is possible to download WhatsApp from the official website.
Although at the moment no trick was found for the app to work

It's a matter of getting to work to get it, the Blackberry is a computer, so everything is possible

    Hi Cixert!
Is it possible to upload these apps on some kind of cloud(Onedrive, dropbox, etc) and then share a link - more people have own "copy" then the bigger chance to save this apps for future?

Looks like the BlackBerry World store will be closing off (paid-for apps) somewhat earlier than expected
    https://www.theverge.com/2018/2/27/1...emoval-april-1

If you want to buy something from the 'working list' for your BB-OS7 legacy (or indeed for any BB10) device now might be the time. I can't imagine that many developers will put effort into modifying apps to make them free or to enable payments by other routes.

Blackberry matters, incredible not being able to pay for applications.

I have found beta Blackberry Navigator in Blackberry Vietnam Apps Store. It can be downloaded freely but when you run the app it ask for a code.
Even if I had the code, it seems that there is an error in BB9900, because the box is not enabled.
    BlackBerry Navigator v10 | BB Apps Store | BlackBerryVietNam.net | Bbvn.net
On the other hand, I comment several apps that I have seen lately. They are poor but they work in Blackberry:
TopoExplorer (paper maps of USA (payment), Cambodia, Thailand and Hongkong) (BBW)
iRadio 1.5 (add station manually) (JAR)
    MFRadio4 (add stations manually) (JAR)
Virtual Radio (VRadio) (Java app with hundreds of stations) (JAR)
    Virtual Radio
    -----------------------
    Dead apps:
    OneMediaHub (no connection)
    Line (since June 2017)
It is curious that when WhatsApp announced its closure, other messaging apps rushed to announce that they also closed, instead of trying to capture the users who left WhatsApp. It seems that all of them work for the same owner or sell their interests to the same place.

The OneMediaHub app is working well for me. The funambol servers don't work, but it should still function with another remote server, either your own, or a third party cloud provider like Memotoo. I have used the later (with OneMediaHub app) for several years to sync contacts, memopad notes and tasks, both to & from my 9900.

I'd be grateful if somebody else could try the Dabr weblink. Certificate errors have now made it impossible to access on my 9900. If others experience the same it may need to come off the 'working apps' list.

LandMark Manager GMSWorld (social POIs maps) This app only works if there is a SIM inserted. Maps of Google Maps, Google Tiles & OSM Tiles work. But OSM Maps do not work. I have found that in Java Phones many georeferenced points appear from other people's social networks and Wikipedia. But in BB I only see my personal POI's.

-GPSMid: I have seen that GPSMid Navigator can also work online with any map.
I have also found offline maps, already extracted, more current (from 2016)

Facebook for Every Phone works well on Java Phones. BBOS must be banned by Facebook. I want to leave Facebook, Facebook does not want me.

I used to use a version of Telmap (M8) in the UK and it was very good but, at least in my experience, it stopped working a couple of years back.
    Here's an old review on M8: https://crackberry.com/free-turn-tur...wn-good-measur

I have since used BlackBerry Navigator, which still comes up on my BB World (UK) search, and at least for now continues to work. I believe it was built on the former app Goviko, which BlackBerry took on and further developed. It uses TomTom maps and for now I prefer to use this on my 9900 than the BlackBerry Maps app on my Q10.
Here's an old review on Goviko: https://crackberry.com/free-turn-tur...wn-good-measur

I strongly suspect that BlackBerry Navigator is a regional offering and may not be available elsewhere: http://appworld.blackberry.com/webst...ntent/20356177

I've changed the website, so that it uses a blogging platform and is a lot easier to edit on the fly. I wasn't expecting so many changes/new additions. I've started working my way through all of the apps that have been added, but it's going to take a while.

With respect to certificate issues, the solution may be to export all the certificates from a desktop browser and then import them. I believe that if you have BIS, you can import certificates sent as email attachments, but of course, I can't test that myself.

Here's the new website address: The Bold 99xx Information Site - Bold 99xx Working and Dead Apps List

You'll notice that the Working and Dead Apps List is now connected to the Bold without BIS site. At the end of next year, there will likely be no distinction to be made between the two.....

Basically, I used the approach outlined on this KB article
    • How to import a certificate on the BlackBerry smartphone

and the pages below to import the X.509 Lets Encrypt certificates. It worked a treat and I can now access Dabr without the certificate errors posted above #269. It may also resolve errors for other sites that use the same certificates.

Of course there is a low risk of compromising security when importing certificates, but that's hardly the biggest problem to those us still using a Bold in 2018
I have the cert files saved in an appropriate format if anybody wants a quick import, please send me a PM.
