I saw a bold 9930 on craigslist for $25 in mint condition and I am thinking about picking it up to use it on tracfone? Will I be able to get data and is it worth picking up to use in 2017. Any information on how this would work is greatly appreciated

If I have my numbers right, the 9930 was a Verizon model so it might be limited to that specific carrier. But if I'm wrong, someone will correct me.

You can use a phone that is only for verizon on tracfone they have a special contract but I want to know how that would actually be and if I would be able to get data

You would probably have to ask Verizon. Those phones still work and there are folks that still use them.

You might want to visit the 9930 subforum and ask in there. I've got mine still sitting in a drawer but it has long since been idled by a Z10, Z30 and now the Priv.

Sounds like a good price. It was a nice phone.

9930 work on certain GSM bands. So it will work with GSM network but you need to look for the bands and see if that match with your provider's
