I just got notification on my bold that update Version 7.1.0 Bundle 2705 is available.

Anybody else got this, or have they gone through with the update? I check\ed Verizon, and it is not listed. But thats who I have. I googled it and have not found it listed anywhere.

Here is the screen shot from my phone.

I just plugged into desktop software, and that does not find the update, only over the air so far.

I just did the update (I'm a Verizon subscriber). Was worried the mess RIM created nine months ago with the non-functioning desktop update was going to happen again, but this time the updates to both the device and desktop (both had to be done) actually worked out fine. Took about 45 minutes, using high speed Internet via my desktop. Unlike past updates, my wallpaper stayed the same and my icons stayed in the right order (BlackBerry, maybe you're catching on!). As with prior updates, then had to register all over again with BlackBerry. Fortunately I was able to remember my log-in name and password. Synchronization now seems to take longer without Intelllisync but otherwise all seems good to go. A little irritated that Wikitude was trying to get away with pre-authorization to track me and everything about me, but I unchecked everything before going to the next setup screen.

Yeah, but but you need a 10 digit Verizon Witeless number to access it.

Hopefully some kind soul on Verizon will upload it to Mediafire or similar to make it available to 9930 users on other networks and of course my beloved Hybrid Community !!!

Spoke too soon. The much greater slowness in doing a synchronization apparently is because one calendar item doesn't sync correctly. The BlackBerry dialog box gives me a specific date and tells me to eliminate that entry or else it can't synch BUT there is no such calendar event on that specific date on either my PC Outlook screen or my BlackBerry Bold 9930. So maybe it's a recurring calendar item that was put on my calendar via a standard invitation that went out on that date nearly a year ago. What really ticks me off is that this wasn't a problem whatsoever until yesterday's BlackBerry software update. I had a similar problem two years ago when, again after a BlackBerry software update, I kept getting a dialog box that three Contacts entries couldn't sync but without telling me which ones. So I wasted a day doing a lot of Google searches and finally found one web entry that described a way to go into Outlook in a process I never knew existed to see if a certain field was blank on any entry and, if so, to just make up an entry and sure enough, that cured the problem of doing synchronizations. So now, no thanks to either BlackBerry or Microsoft Outlook, I need to find a similar solution for this one calendar item, and all because of yesterday's software update.

Never had update problems through DM, nor our work phones. A lot of update issues are related to the computer or phone. I always use the latest DM, and even if my current one is updated, I delete it and download a fresh version, I then do a battery pull on my phone before I start. In the last three years, the only update problem I ever had was due to me not disabling my auto-sleep mode on my laptop and it interrupted the update procedure. Other than that they've been all smooth, no wallpaper problems, icons always returned properly, BBM and contacts intact etc.... That being said, I never do OTA updates, as there's too much chance of a signal interruption, which will screw up an update. No thanks, not worth the risk.

It is amazing how fast people forget about a great phone. Was a time there would be 10-15 pages of information by now instead of 10-15 posts. I am just now installing it.

I ran the update first thing this morning and WhatsApp no longer runs. The rest of my phone works perfect but every time I launch WhatsApp the phone crashes and I have to pull the battery and restart. If you need WhatsApp to stay connected with loved ones (my GF lives in Winnipeg and I am in the states) then I recommend NOT updating right now.

Whatsapp works perfectly fine for me. I did lose the last few messages of the day between my contacts & I. Have you attempted to delete then reinstall Whatsapp?
