I got the charging pod but I don't use it because the phone does not sit in the thing like it should. Falls right out.

If you use a case, two things stop you from using the Pod...One is that it will not fit in the pod and the other is that the charging contacts are unable to make contact.

Unfortunately you can't use a case with blackberry's pod, but their pod is garbage. The phone is hard to get "seated" properly and will fall right out if its tipped. meanwhile I got this to replace it 9930 Charging Pod I saw someone on here recommend it, just came today and I LOVE it. still cant use a case but i like showing this sexy phone anyway

Check the bottom of your phone with the case on. Are there cutouts for the charging buttons? If so, then at least you have a chance it will work with the case on...

I've read a few people saying their Bold falls right out. I must've got lucky, as I've not had one bit of trouble yet. My twin size bed is against a wall, and I actually have it setting on an empty cat liter bucket serving as the bedside table.

I ended up doing the full body Zagg invisible shield thing so a case has never been an issue. If you're patient (as the thing is in parts and takes time and a lot of "careful" to put on), then maybe you could go that route and not have to worry about a body case. Then again, I keep mine in a holster instead of my pocket.

the pod is a bad investment. I got one is am not happy with it. First, I have to carefully place the phone in it to start charging. Second, it does tip easily if bumped. Third, I find that I have charging issues with the pod (i.e. it does not charge fully when on the pod). Only use the pod sometimes at the office to keep the phone charged. The only good thing about getting the pod is the extra USB charger.

Works great for me. I doubt it would work with any case that protects the bottom edge of the phone.
