hope someone can help me with this issue....

my bold 9900 randomly switches off when in my pocket in its case or even overnight on my bedside locker

to get it to switch back on i pull the battery,remove the sim,press all the keys on keyboard and slightly flex and squeeze the handset and then firmly put the battery back in however it takes maybe up to an hour but its very random whether it switches back on at all.

eventually it does but i cant afford my phone to be doing this when my kids need to get in touch with me!

i have reverted back to os 7.1.0 bundle 1149 my network is o2 uk

has anyone any ideas??

im so frustrated with this and really dont know what to do next.....when it works its great but its just not reliable!

that's a really weird issue you are having. never heard of that before tbh

Have you tried a different OS on it. maybe a bug in the software.

If that doesn't work, could be a hardware issue. return to O2 for warranty repair.

phone is out of warranty alas!

maybe the squeezing of phone and pressing of buttons is just a conincidence and doesnt do anything at all but the phone will not restart immediaitely after a battery pull-it starts eventually but always at least an hour and soemtimes as long as 6 hours

ive rolled back to previous os and the phone has only shut down once since then

i have deleted all non essential apps and so far the phone is running for nearly 6 hours with out a shutdown

i did take it apart and rebuild it and tightened all screws so we shall see what happens over the course of the day...

be interested to hear from anyone with a similar issue

no insurance,im stuck with fun and really need a fix

did you tried a new battery. I also had those shut downs, turning off battery saving mode did the trick for a while. But with a new battery my shut downs are gone.
