I do not believe that BBOS devices can work without a BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) data plan from BlackBerry authorised carrier.

Welcome to CrackBerry by the way.

To be honest I think you'd get the quickest and most definitive reply if you asked the cellular provider directly.

No. That's not an option. I've asked them about BB10 devices and they said no BlackBerry's at all are supported. I come on here and I see that I can get a BB10 device to work on prepaid/mvno with some setting changes.
I believe someone has had bb10 working on net10

I've been having the same issues, I purchased a Bold 9780 unlocked after I broke my Nexus 4, for a cheap reliable backup to my hershey bar phone. As a net10 user I can't get access to email setup or data, but calling and sms are working. I'm considering ditching the devce if I can't get a workaround, which is a shame because I like it. I used tfdata as my APN and have some apps working (opera browser and facebook,) But I can't get access to gmail or setup an email account that isn't an enterprise server. Anything just to get the phone to make calls and sync contacts with gmail would be appreciated, maybe an alternate OS to run on the handset? Opinions?

You need to have a BIS data plan for the phone to work.
If they don't offer it - you're out of luck.

I believe there are some work arounds to enable internet use , to browse websites. ( do some searching on CB )
    This,however wouldn't enable email/BBM use.

The BB10 devices on the other hand will work on a regular data plan.
