I've got an unlocked UK bold 9900 which i have taken to Australia, it works great in NSW and Brisbane but when i go further north in Queensland the signal disappears

Telstra says its ok and no blocks, BB shows and can see no signal at all, when I put SIM in HTC desire it all works ok

    Any ideas?

What bands does the 9900 you have use? There are a couple of variations.

I have the same 3G bands, t-mobile/uk, windmobile and mobilicity also use them. If you can't use the 3G bands, try 2G.

I'm using Herrbohnens Blackberry in qld. ive got bands 1, 4 and 8 as mentioned. When i change to 2G no service still. The area im in is 3G only...

So your saying that the bands im using are different to Telstra 3G bands?

if so - is there a way to change the bands the BB uses to be compatible with Telstra?

    cheers

Let me get this straight... You both are in the same household with the other's blackberry? No, there isn't a way to change the bands, sorry.

I wish RIM just come up with ONE 9900 and another 9930 with each one have their own bands with no variations. In this global world, it is stupid to separate bands since people move all the time.

    I have a Telus Bold 9900 with 3G/H+ bands 1,2,5,6
