Has anyone else experience this? the Sharp metal ring around the phone is hurting her ear and refuses to upgrade to the new phone because of it.. Her 9780 is rounded at the top and doesn't rub on her ear the same way..

The 9790 is what she wants, but the phone isn't worth the upgrade without HD recording etc.

i have had mine for a while now and havent experienced this. sounds like its the way she holds her phone. which is obviously important to her so thatcould be a deal breaker. try a slim case like the barely there case. it wraps around the bezel just enough to soften that edge. good luck

Sounds like if it hurts her ear she needs a bluetooth or a different phone.

    Thanks for the support guys.

    Feck.

I'm serious about the metal edge hurting her ear a bit.. I gave her a demo phone for 2 weeks to use and she loved the phone and the keyboard but couldn't get past the metal band hurting her ear.

Bluetooth is out as she doesn't like the look.

I have a 9900 (convert from i phones) and love it suprisingly.

We tried some covers on the phone yesterday and thinks she can live with it..

She isn't sure about the camera.. Not sure why its and issue as she has a new ipod touch to take pictures with or her new cannon elph 300...

Hehehe.. Women can be picky.. But i guess she can't changes phones one she decides.. Me I just grab the latest phone and upgrade a fellow employee with mine

The galaxy 2 s is trying to call me to the dark force..

Hey, I'm a dude and have noticed the same thing. I am rarely on the phone for more then a few minutes at a time, but the metal edge does bother me.

Buy a case and be done with it. I have the Otterbox Commuter and can be on the phone for hours with no "pain in my ear"...

yah the otterbox may work but then you lose the sexiness of the phone

I will try a barely there case for her and see if that works.

thanks for the ideas and letting me know the phone hurts other peoples ears as well.

Bluetooth, speakerphone, or the wired headset that came with the 9900 or your older blackberry. The newer version apple ones won't work, only the old ones. I have tested them to know they don't work.

My wife has gone back to her 9700. She prefers the size, and the phone doesn't hurt her ears.
