    Ok a little update:

My sources are telling me that 3 devices have been shipped to Vietnam. They are estimated to arrive in Vietnam by July 6th. However, these 3 devices are unbranded, even though AT&T is currently stocking about 20,000 units.

They will, supposedly, have a launching event around July 25th - 27th. And the devices will be available States side by 7/8th of August.

I will keep you updated once i hear anything new.

    God bless,

This is great news, heard anything for european/global release? I thought uk might get it first.

I'm still wondering if anyone has any information with 4G on AT&T since they are selling phones now saying "4G."
The reason why you are seeing 4G being advertised everywhere is because of the newly implemented lowered standards. The ITU lowered standards of 4G to include WIMAX, LTE and HSPA+. Many phone have already been running HSPA+ for a while now, therefore some phones that had previously been 3G (HSPA+ or 3G+) are now considered 4G under the ITU's new standards

And I believe this runs at 14.4 Mbps which is HSPA+.

    ok, here's another update

This applies strictly to AT&T in the US only.

Pricing is about $499/$599 with a 2-year contract and $799 without a contract.

This is again purely speculation and still have to wait for approval from both RIM and AT&T.

RIM must hate me for leaking these infos. haha

Yeah right. At $300 more than most other phones not a single soul would buy the 9900/9930.

You could build a BEASTLY custom PC for 800.. Buy a pretty damn nice laptop, buy two iphone 5's for $799.99

    RIM is dumb, but not that dumb my friend [;

No more than $249.99 with 2 yr contract, probably $199.99 as it has always been. If they charged any more, RIM would no longer be a player in smartphone competition. I mean would I pay $400 for this phone with a 2 yr contract? Yes, but that is because I am fking crazy. Normal people would not and that would be the end of RIM [:

are you kidding me? thats not a reasonable pricing point.if that was, then you can expect people to jump off the rim bandwagon. there will be no hope for rim to gain more consumer base.people will drawn more to iphone 5 then to anything on rim's new lineup.i think at&t will keep the normal pricing as it does.

First of all, thank for the valuable info you're bringing us. Second, by "States side" you mean the US right? Have you heard anything about Verizon specifically?

Also, I have to respectfully disagree with the pricepoint you're speculating for a 2-year contract if you mean in the US. I would say $199 seems about the usual for a 2 year contract and about $499-599 for off contract.

The iPhone 4 32GB is AT&T's most expensive phone at $299 on a 2 year contract. There is no way RIM can afford to price this more than $250. Should be priced at $199 IMO.

I don't think it can be more expensive than an iphone either. I agree with the preceding comments

Maybe RIM is trying to pull an Apple here? Remember how in 2007 Apple zealots happily paid $599 for an iPhone 2G WITH A CONTRACT?

Soo... RIM thinks it has as devoted fanatics as Apple? Hmm...
