    Hey guys,

I have a question concerning bold 9900. I want to buy bold 9900 off the contract(don't want to be locked in another 3 years). Is there any difference between wind, rogers and bell models of bb9900? I mean, I am on fido, so if I get a rogers bb9900 device would I be able to use it on fido, once unlocked? Also I am thinking of switching to wind when my fido contract expires (5 month) will that device work on Wind? or if i get wind bold9900 now, will it work on fido?

P.S. If i get rogers' bold 9900, is there any way of getting rid of, I mean erasing, that stupid "Rogers" label at the bottom of device (right under the keyboard)?

    Thanks in advance

Any unlocked 9900 will work on fido. If wind sells the 9900, then any 9900 will work on Wind.

Nailpolish remover will remove the logo. Search the forums for the proper technique.

A Penny may also remove it, not sure on this device specifically, but know it works on others.

Wind uses different frequencies for 3G than Fido and Rogers.

    thank you for your reply.
So what that would mean for me as a user? as far as i understand now, if the carrier sells bb9900, than any bb9900 would work exactly the same on that network, if that network supports the device?! am i correct?! sorry if i'm asking an obvious thing...

There are some protective "stickers" that cover all parts of the device it will cover the branding with a protective sticker with a pattern!

Best option covers the brand and protects the device!

No... there are 2 different 9900 models, both with different 3G (H+) bands

To use 3G on Rogers, Bell and Fido, you'll need the one with UMTS bands 1, 2, 5 & 6
To use 3G on Wind which uses the AWS frequency, you'll need UMTS bands 1, 4 & 8

So no go for Rogers? I was planning to move onto Wind with my white 9900. Guess I'll have to sell it or return it.

Bell Rogers and Att are using the same model (same bands included) and wind, mobilicity and t-mobile US are with the second model.

Used a penny on mine, worked like a charm. Don't be afraid to apply a little pressure as it won't scratch the plastic

No. There is not. The bands are hardware based not software based.

Sell the devices and purchase ones with the bands you needs.
