I know some people, including myself, were having problem getting Blackberry Maps to work. Either no icon (except in Extended Search) would show up or there would be no streets to view within the app.

I switched from O2 to Orange, and because Orange haven't released the Bold 9900 yet, I don't think they've released the service books properly. This may or may not be true, not 100% on that.

The service book you need is "LBS QC Prod ALL 60001" to run maps. What you need to do is do a restore to your phone. Not a full restore, just the 'service books'. Restore from a previous state when maps was working. It doesn't matter if it's from your previous phone network either. It will just work. After restoring the icon should be visible. You can still go into "Email Accounts" and resend the service books for email. It won't delete the BB Maps service book.

Looks like Orange have made a few changes since the service books now appear on their own accord after a fresh install.

Perhaps they're getting closer to a release?
