    256!

UMTS = AT&T or T-mobile... so at least for now, it's gonna be on a GSM carrier.

Verizon and Sprint never got the original Bold 9000, so it's a possibility the same could happen again.
i like that its umts. i really hope it hits tmo.

it would be cool if it had at least hspa+ at 14.4mbps, esp since android phones out there will get 42mbps by then. but you know what? id be lucky if it even hits tmo, so im not going to push my luck.

Thats the whole point, a bold was made to be BOLD and standout from the crowd. If you put the 9000 next to most phones released at that time, it looked like it was about to just kick their collective asses.

Dakota could be released as early as early Spring?

    No Bold currently for AT&T
The reason is that sources tell us that the new Bold, or Dakota if you will, is a bit closer than we were first led to believe. Apparently from the whispers we hear, AT&T could have the new member of the Bold family on the shelf for sale as soon as early or mid-spring, but significant quantity is likely not expected at the store and authorized reseller level till very early summer.

Wow. it would be a little difficult getting used to a smaller screen after the torch, but I'm really not a huge fan of the slider and all the moving parts.

Neither was I, all the moving parts of the Torch really brought down the quality.

It would be better if they had some sort of video conference application. I mean how many futureistic movies have we seen where ppl are talking on their cells phones and you can actually see the the other guy talking. Maybe like video chat or something idk......

Dakota may be sooner than most of us thought. As many of you do, I also have a 'friend' at ATT and he read to me an ATT communication that said Dakota probably available early spring to business and then when inventory can support available to retail. Meaning mid to late summer for us 'non-business' folks.

    CDMA and GSM?
That simply means it is a worldphone product like some previous cdma models.

An interesting point about the processor mentioned for the lower end models is that it actually has versions available exceeding 1ghz so it might be the case that all these new devices are using the same hardware just with a different clock speed.

The earliest would be "Christmas season" which starts on Black Friday.....the thinking it will be March of next year though
    Are we talking March 2012?

My contract is done, and I'm milking my used Bold 9000. If it is March 2011, then I can wait for a couple of months to get it. If it's next year, I might as well settle for the 9780 now.

didn't say specs were recycled. but your experience from the 9000 won't be much diff here despite 1ghz. wake me up when a 1ghz+ processor is coupled with qnx.
Trolls don't have the luxury of being awakened... You are trolling a device that hasn't even been released yet. Sit back, relax and wait until launch day before you spew your anti-blackberry venom here.

Anyone think it will have a glass screen? Pretty much all (if not all) touchscreen smartphones have glass screens so I wonder if BlackBerry will do this for the hybrid berry.
