I just purchased the Bold 9900 and recently one or a few people is telling me that they hear their own voice (echo) when they talk. I can clearly hear them from my end; unsure if its a phone defect or maybe software?

I loaded a few apps but not sure if it happened before or if it was like that. I purchased it last sunday so i have until this Sunday to go back and return ..

    Any suggestions?

I haven't tried to upgrade or release the phone YET.

This is a cell tower issue I believe. It shouldn't be pervasive for you.

love the phone but hate the reception. I have changed the phone 3 times. The 4th one is slightly better, now most people tell me only 80% of the time that I sound like I am "under water" or else everything they say echoes back to them and they can't talk to me any more on the phone.

I am so frustrated. I was resisting going to I phone because I like the keyboard of the 9900, and I like the touch screen too. But I am at a a loss what to do. I spoke with a RIM tech who said the problem is definitely with the hardware and RIM is working on a repair - but when?? How do you sell a phone that doesn't work?? Any ideas? How many of your BB users are going to IPhone??

I get that if I have the volume set to 100%. When I turn the volume down, the echo goes away.

I think the sound actually travels through the chassis and is picked up by the mic.
