Okay, I know this question has probably been asked a few times but why hasn't RIM given us a release date or somewhere in the ballpark? I've herd that it's ranged from July 27th-November for AT&T. Like many others, I want this phone now.
July 27th-July 28th was a rumor for a Verizon release of the 9930, not for AT&T. However, you never know what can happen.
I really can't wait for this device to come out. I was going to settle with Tmobile's BBB 9780. But after checking out reviews on youtube, this phone will be well worth the wait.
Just the physical appearance alone got me hooked. But, with all the features and specs included, I honestly fell in love
Anyone else not like the flush call, menu, back and hang up keys on this device? I've always preferred them with separators like the 9700. That is probably the *only* thing that irks me about this new phone. Certainly not a show stopper. Heh heh.
Perhaps RIM should look towards replacing the trackpad and the buttons and increase the display size and make the buttons capacitive instead. This way you get the full KB and larger display.

Exactly. More real estate for the browser. Same rockin keypad... Why I don't iPhone.
iPhone was a short lived device for me on AT&T, and with it on Verizon its a non-starter. I don't care if its a free phone just not going back.
What didn't you like about it? Just curious because I have an EnV Touch and it is basically impossible to type on the touchscreen, thus why I always use the keyboard when I flip it open.
I was wondering if you guys know if the next generation of blackberries would be "BIS free" ?! I mean, at this time, unlike iphone or android phones, we need a paid plan and a lot of "options" to use a blackberry. Using email, google maps or gmail app on the blackberry needs data plan etc., even if we want to use the phone with wifi only... which becomes sometimes annoying.
On the other hand, i was suprised that the facebook app for bb upgrade brought this freedom of use. Now i dont need to pay a "facebook" option to use the facebook app, which could lead RIM to rise their fans...
All the time I thought that difference between 9900 and 9930 is one having GSM and other don't. But both have GSM band. But after reading this thread I am confused. So... is there any technical differences between the two?
Is one is better than the other? Sorry for asking dumb questions, I am confused about the two versions.
The 9900 has GSM only, so it will run on At&t/ T Mobile. The 9930 has both GSM and CDMA. It will run on Verizon, Sprint, and possibly on other, smaller CDMA networks. It's possible that the reason it has GSM is so it can have "world-phone" capabilities like the 8800 series, in other words it will use CDMA networks here but can run on GSM which is used by most of the world.
