Well, today I found out that I cannot keep my unlimited data plan since I'm upgrading from a "dumbphone" to a smartphone (9930) on VZW. Now, I'm going to be limited to 2GB per month. I was told that it should be more than enough, but is it really? How much data do you consume on your BlackBerry on average per month (or for as long as you've had your 9900/9930) and how much are you limited to? Does the BlackBerry Bold 9900/9930 consume a lot of data through BBM, Facebook & Twitter apps, email, and internet use?

2gb would probably be more than enough for me considering i use wifi way more than i use data. But since my unlimited data plan is grandfathered over, as long as I stay on a smart phone..I dont have to worry about it.

I'm not a very heavy data user and the most I've ever used is 500MB. I have push email running for 3 accounts, Berryweather updating every 30 mins, Facebook and Internet every so often. As long as you're not watching movies or streaming a ton of stuff you'll be fine. Plus I'm always on wifi at home. If you're on wifi on at home you can do anything data wise and you'll be fine with 2GB. I was grandfathered over so I have Unlimited anyway.

If it's just to use for BBM, FB, Twitter, apps, email, and internet that would be plenty of data per month. You could use your BB no-stop and probably not go thru all that data. If you were tethering or bridged to a PB, you might get close but that's if you download a bunch of stuff and stream, etc. For the use you described, your fine.

Thanks for the responses! I haven't gotten the 9930 yet but I will tomorrow (Sunday). I haven't had one yet but as of now, that what I project I will be doing. I'm not too worried about it though, I'll just monitor it closely during the first month and see how much I use.

i'm on (telus) Canada i have curve 9300 my plan is Up to 1 GB is $55
    1 GB to 2 GB is $75
    2 GB to 5 GB is $95
    5 GB and over is $95 + 5/MB10

i was coming from my unlimited plan and i wasn't sure about this plan but it turns out that with fb,twitter, msn, bbm, and a lot more app running 24/7 i've only used a max of 500-800MB a month and i send over 2500 BBM every few days maybe more

you most likely wont use more then your 2GB but if you do either up your plan to the next GB or use wifi if available

So BBM barely uses any data then?
