Second, let me say I am not an insider. While I do know someone who has some rather attractive electronic hardware, this person has no idea when these devices will be released.
I can remember wanting a new Blackberry so bad that it DID hurt and I know well what you are going through. I want a 9900, too!
When we see some pre-release units we will be getting close and from what my contacts are saying that usually gets my pre-release units, there are none to be had. This is why I think it is way too early to be getting real excited.
You need to join Google and set your self up a news alert for "AT&T Blackberry 9900" and check the "as it happens" button and you will get every bit of news on the net about AT&T and the 9900. I get alerts on a daily basis but they are all still not giving dates. When you all of a sudden get 60 to 100 emails in less than a hour, the 9900 has arrived! Try it as Google can be your Friend.
Sorry about my sharp words, I am here just like you looking for any information on the 9900. I want one, too!06-01-11 01:20 PMLike 0 - Let me first say I am sorry.

Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com06-01-11 01:32 PMLike 0 - I think RIM is desperate and will do anything to hold onto it's customers. Will will like never know what is the hold up, we have to just wait!
I was one of the first to get the 9780 and it is getting so old that I regularly change my service over to my iPhone 4 just for a "change". I even put my SIM in my 9800 for about 2 hours!
The local Corp stores got so tired of me coming in and doing this I just bought about 10 regular and 10 smaller SIM cards off eBay so I can just call AT&T and get them to do the switch over the phone! I am sick and hurting, too!06-01-11 01:51 PMLike 0 - Not being an Apple fanboy, but now there is a rumor that the iphone 4S will be announced on June 06 and released in late July-early August on all the big 4 carriers, this is NOT a good thing for people who were really interested in picking up a Bold 9900 and keep getting non-info on a firm release date. If June 21st comes and RIM hasn't released SOME info, they will be fighting upstream this summer while iphone4S's and Evo 3D's fly off the self while older BB's collect dust and RIM's stock continues to drop like my old man said years ago "You can't love what you don't see".

Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com06-01-11 02:19 PMLike 0 - Please do not let RIM put QNX on our new phones! I owned a Playbook for 24 hours and returned it. Let them finish baking QNX and maybe next year, maybe!06-01-11 02:33 PMLike 0
- LOL yeah, this whole QNX "COMING SOON" (see a patteron? LOL) half baked Playbooks and with their bread & butter money maker Smartphones, they delay and delay...again you snooze, you lose, and if the Bold 9900/9930 isn't released by June 28th-July 10th...then IMO, it's tick tick...tick friggin' tock.
Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com06-01-11 02:47 PMLike 0 - I will wait patiently. The wait will be worth it. I have already owned the Galaxy S2, Atrix and several others.
I will take Blackberry.06-01-11 02:51 PMLike 0 - I too want a Bold 9930, but my upgrade/expired contract is 6 days away, meaning I'm a full free agent, but still wanna stay with Sprint, but if the iphone4S is available over a month from the Bold 9930 being released, then that is a true temptation, I'm sure I'm not the ONLY one thinking that

That said, real Bold 9000 fans will tell you, we have been waiting more than 2 years for an update.06-01-11 04:34 PMLike 0 - i remember waiting months for the 9000, when it came out i was so happy, i used that phone until the screen wouldnt display properly never had a problem with it until that point, i still have it sitting in my room, its broken but ill probably keep it just to remind myself how badass it was.06-01-11 06:18 PMLike 0

Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com06-01-11 07:40 PMLike 0 - I too, own an out of service 9000, and it sits in my drawer now for over a year. I use it occasionally to remind myself how badass it was/is. I wonder how many of us have a dead 9000 that we keep around just...because. ??
Posted from my CrackBerry at wapforums.crackberry.com06-01-11 08:21 PMLike 0 - Just spoke with AT&T's "BlackBerry Specialist"--said a few interesting things (though they should be taken with a grain of salt):
1-said he's heard that the 9900 is launching in August
2-said that AT&T was originally going to get the 9780 but for some reason they decided at the last minute they weren't and T-Mobile jumped in and snapped it up instead.

I have said though that conventional wisdom is August but its worth noting that this device is still not in field trial and is not expected this week or next...

The only thing, that "may" speed this up is that I am hearing rumblings of another device coming to the field shortly that will also have the 7.0 OS. This may be a good thing as you'll have two teams of testers albeit with different devices testing the same OS. It should help having a few more hands on it and getting bugs identified faster...

PG06-02-11 08:05 AMLike 0 - Unfortunately no. Because this is a brand new OS and a new type of device that is different from other Berries it will take between 45-60 days if all goes well with testing...

- Brand new OS? It's just 6.1 renamed... right?
