I'm staying with .585 for now in stock form. Its running nice and the battery got me from 9am to 9pm so I will be waiting for the guys over at opensourceBB to finish the install package on .150.

Really Blueeyes? When I was running full .585 I was getting close to redline with 12 hours of usage. And I tried limiting myself with usage as well. But with the .503 radio I'm getting a lot better battery. Though I heard .540's radio is even better.

just copied sfi file from 540 to 585 directory, launched apploader and finished.

The thing is how to really verify that the new radio has been flashed to my phone ...after the completion i opened the about device, and found that the version is pretty much the same nothing new there ?

You can verify the sfi file version in apploader by clicking on details. Is it located in the Options > Device > About section: Platform 5.x.x.xxx?

I think I know why the .585 radio is so hard on the battery. The reception is not very good as compared to prior builds and even my 9000 held onto a signal better than this. Could be my imagination by WiFi seems a bit more jumpy too.

I'm currently using .585. Looks like it's better than .540 both on battery life and radio reception. But I might be trying OS 7.1 soon...

I just got .585 installed and I love the improvements (Changes) they made in 7.1 so if I put anything back on it would be 7.1, soooooooooooo, I am hoping that .150 comes out soon. I know they are working on it. They have the 9810 version already. Its not like we are waiting for RIM or AT&T to release it. You know those Billion Dollar Companies take forever with stuff.

I don't think it's your imagination.
One thing I've had with both 540 and 585 that I've never experienced before (to this magnitude) is a "jumpy" Bluetooth signal. My 9900 & BT earpiece frequently un-pair & re-pair themselves. My PB loses Bridge with me all the time too. The PB is new for me, so maybe that's the norm (hope not!), but I use my BT daily and have had same earpiece for a while now.
Same for Wi-Fi. At home I keep intermitently dropping Wi-Fi with both 540 & 585.

I skipped 503, but now I guess I'll DL it just to steal its radio file to drop in 585. *sighs*

Splitting hairs a bit here, but we're definitely not waiting for RIM to release it. They already have. To the carriers.
Then some gracious person leaks it out while the carriers gaze longingly at it for weeks (months?) on end.

Out of the Big 3 in Canada, I know my carrier Telus will be last to release 7.1, based on experience.
Bell and/or Rogers will release first, and maybe be on 2nd release before Telus gets around to it.
So I'm absolutely NOT waiting on Telus, that much I can say for sure!

I haven't tried .585 and no need to add for me as I haven't tried it but guess what ? I know it has the worst battery life amongst .503 and .540 head over to the leaked .585 forum and official .585 forum and see for yourself
Mind you, iv gone through all the pages from leaked .503, official .503,official .540 and leaked 7.1.

Well when I went through the leaked .585 people said the battery sucked and in the earlier pages of this but with .540 radio it is good

And I stated my opinion and people's opinion, I never said .585 is bad from my own view instead I reported what people said and then my view is its best to try it yourself although I would recommend starting from .503 to .540 and then .585

As with Zocster I am testing .579 currently it seems to be stable
and not as heavy on battery as even .585

Tomorrow will tell if its going to be better still.

That's with a mix of moderate-heavy usage during the day and a few hours of idle time at night. I'll not complain with that.

That is pretty impressive to say the least.

Now all we have to do is see what happens when we start trying the .503 or .540 radio in .579, or the .579 radio in .585 !!!
