The question has been answered ad nauseum-no. There will be no true 4G BlackBerrys until next year, at the earliest, because the single integrated multimode chip for it isn't available. Further research would also reveal that Sprint is backing out of WiMax and converting to LTE as they go forward into the future.

No, this new crop of BB's being released are basically interim phones. If you are looking for QNX, 4G, WiMax, LTE, etc. You are better off passing on the BlackBerrys being released this year unless you like upgrading phones every year.

Well, if the 9930 can reach (theoretical) speeds of 14MBps, doesn't it qualify for "4G" standards? I know AT&T and TMo call most of their phones "4G" with those speeds, like the G2 or the HP Veer.

its not the speeds its the wireless technology. the chipset in the 9930 is not wimax/4g so its max output would be the normal 3g bands

it completely depends on where you are. my wife gets 750-1200 kbps on 3G and maybe 3-4mbs on wimax where available
