Is the BB 9900 suppose 2 have the BB logo next to the 4G icon?
Mine doesn't have it, but i am just checking if that BB logo with the dots are suppose 2 be there because my BB Bold 9780 has it, but 9900 doesn't.

You need to be sure that your network support 4G and maybe your BlackBerry will be displayed H+ icon
Actually, i called T-Mobile and they forgot to put a data plan on my new BB Bold so that is why the BB logo was not there. They put me on the BB data plan and it just appeared. It says 4G.
I love it! It is sooo FAST. I dont care if it is fake 4G or 3.5. As long as it is faster than 3G, i am happy.
when i played with one at tmobile it didnt have it but seemed to work without a problem.

The BB logo means you're connected to BIS. If you don't have it then you're not connected to BIS. I hope that helps.
Let me clarify, T-Mobile had my new device under the $10.00 Android data plan for 200MB. This is why the BB logo did not appear. They updated their records and switched me to the $10.00 Blackberry data plan for 200MB and now the little BB dots have appeared next to the 4G icon. So i guess it is NOW connected to BIS because of the corrected data plan.
Can someone please elaborate what BIS means and its purpose?
What actually matters to the consumer is that BIS compresses your data, so you're only using an average of (if I remember correctly) a quarter of the data you would use for the exact same tasks on other phones. Streaming media is not included, but as long as you don't use streaming media you'll have a hard time ever using your full 200MB plan. I use streaming media and downloading a fair amount and I rarely even go over 150MB
