Just a quickie, I read some where that RIM are recalling the orginal batteries that come with the 9900 and 9930, does any one know if this is true? And what is battery sort code there re calling?

Oh ok, I know there's two different codes I know one is LOP and I'm not sure of the other, do you know if there is any evident change in the battery life on the newer batteries at all?

Japan and Korea made batteries are said to be better.

I've a japanese/korean battery and it seems too be worse, that's the LOP code battery, it last about 5 hours on moderate use a few phone calls, bbm, 30 mins browsing, and only the essential apps open

There was no recall, just a very small batch of batteries that were defective (eg would not power on or got a red X over battery icon).

There is NO battery recall, nor was there ever. Just a very small batch that were defective (made prior to mid-Sept of 2011).

By now it's a safe bet to say none of the defective batteries are in circulation any more.

What is your concern?

I haven't got a concern, I just have a LOP battery (too my knowledge they were defective) I bought a new one on amazon, and its a JSM

I've got a LOP battery in my 9900 too, and it works perfectly.

If it was defective, it wouldn't have powered up your phone the first time you turned it on.

Stop worrying
