I myself blackberry FAN and I love this phone too. Its just its (9900) battery whats causing me problem. I have to use a secondary phone now too (old 9700)..

Lets talk about right now: (IST : 11:45 AM while posting)
Till 9:30AM it was charging (whole night, 100%), right now its 11:31 PM (while posting this para) and battery it shows is around 70%. I have done two outgoing calls of 5 minutes mere and 1 minute of incoming call. BBM/eMail very less as there weren't many of mails as I woke up. I get around 20 mails a day. 2G or 3G both eating the battery same way.

My fbuk or twitter or social feeds is not enabled to refresh feeds automatically.

Battery is draining heavily. Does anyone know if I can contact blackberry somehow ? Some direct email address.

    p.s. enclosed attachment

i have had my phone about a day and a half and noticed that I got pretty much a full day (7 Hours) of battery life. I have used it moderately to heavy at that. I guess it depends on how you use it and possibly what radios (Bluetooth, GPS, and other location services may be on. I am pretty happy with the battery life coming from a Droid phone!!! Much better....

You're pleased with 7 hours of battery life?

Yes, Verizon 4G is really that fast!

Might have to just get this. The battery life does suck compared to my previous 9780 but........it's still better than my android device (Samsung Infuse 4G).

I think everyone needs to calm down.

    in my past i've had 81xx, 85xx, 9000, 9700 and now 9900

I use my phone throughout the day for txt and bbm. Some calls but under 10. Some browsing while i'm on the can. and that's about it

There is rarely a few minutes that go by i don't check it / write a msg

I am running with gps on, but bluetooth, and wifi off.

Yesterday at 6am was fully charged 100%. Today at 8:30am i am showing 28%

That's 26 hours. Given that say 5 or 6 was sleeping. Its still decent. Consider me a happy camper

Some other sites I've read have said that some people are having no problem whatsoever with the battery and others can't make a full day even on low use. I'm in the latter category: I'd say I'm a moderate user and I get about 6 hours. My girlfriend is a light user and she doesn't get much more on hers. I haven't found any solution, though, so no idea what the difference is but it is a pretty stark contrast from what I'm reading.

It is weird that most people complaining are GSM users? Mine is terrible.

I've had a test 9930 since yesterday at 5:00pm and have noticed very little battery drain. I hit the sack at 11:00pm and woke up at 7:00am and it looked like the battery bar had not even moved - The phone is activated on a CDMA network.

With as steamed as I am about the poor quality camera in this flagship and as critical as I've been about RIM you can take my word as the gospel that at least with the 9930 I have - the battery isn't an issue at all.

CDMA verizon user here and my battery has been a champ thus far. I let it drain pretty much all the way out of the box and charging since then the past few days it has held up very well. I run facebook twitter and slacker a lot and its been very solidM Looks like I got a good unit

Both posts above lend not a clue as to how the devices are used, or mention anything about phone usage. I'd take the posts with a grain of salt.

everyone should have a nice little battery usage screen. Please report what is on that. Like mentioned just stating hours isnt very helpful.

Some people mentioning getting 20 emails per day or 15 -20 bbms a day...i get probably 10 emails per hour during the day and would be sending message (gtalk/sms/bmm) 20 per hour on the low side. Obviously my batter life and their battery life would differ greatly

Comparision coming from your last device (9780, 9700, 9650) are good also. If you are getting much less then chances are others can expect to see less battery life too.

In my line of work long-lasting battery is a must. Tried the 9900 and returned it after a week since the battery barely lasted half a day. Tried Rogers,Voda and leaked .317 OS's with no luck.
It's sad to see RIM getting caught up in the marketing gimmick game where appearance takes precedence over functionality. This ,of course, is my personal opinion.

I agree about the appearance... I'd take fat, big battery, over-sized antenna 9930 over a sexy thin one any day.

Surely someone is going to produce an extended life battery with a bulging back cover.... and I don't care if it doesn't include the NFC thing.
