Using 9900 since 3-4 days, i'm not liking the battery at all. My 9700's battery was much better. Ive to use edge instead of 3G to conserve battery. My usage is high as i use bbm a lot but battery aint anyway near 9700.

Have to wait for software update?

I'm not all that happy with my battery either, it is however getting better over the last couple of days. I'm going to see what happens with a software upgrade too. (my battery is now lasting all day)

    Raghav,
If you are in India then you can't complain about battery life on 3 g networks. The networks are horrible, and due to increased polling the battery gets drained.
I had the same issue on my Torch.
Bold 9700 has got terrific battery, so instead of Two days life you would have gotten 1.5 days which you would not have noticed.

I know 3G ofcourse take more battery, but I use 3G where there's full network (i.e. residence) so its not a issue. Or else whereas less signal strength I change it to 2G asap.

But the battery drains like its get evaporating.

And even in 2G battery is same, some big problem in this phone I guess.

Your best bet is to keep it set to H+/3G + 2G. India isn't very kind to 3G phones soo if you want reliability use 2G and when you are at home, use 3G for speed. Charge up before sleeping and your set for atleast 2 days.

2 Days ? My phone usage is like most of the time ringing and lot of bbms (100+) contacts. My phone dies by 6pm and have to charge again via car-charger.

If you are trying to say battery is same or better than 9700/9780 then I suppose your usage is minimal.

This happens sometimes with my 9650... I have over 150 BBM contacts myself, but I don't bbm them all daily... I would say I'm an average user. A little web-browsing, a few calls, some app using, and bbm/txting. Some days I can have the battery at around 30% by the end of the day... other days its dying by 5/6pm. (I think its 9650 software). Hopefully the 9930 will be better than that... if not, I'm in trouble!

    Coool. Are you getting it?

I don't know, I'm a bit skeptical. I'll wait and see what others say about it first. Post a review if you end up getting it please.

I'm waiting for my phone first. If I really can't live with the battery life than I probably will. Its only $10.

The picture says it is a 2200mAh battery? That would be awesome.

    Edit:
Never mind. It's a photoshopped picture.

I love the battery on my 9900! I'm a fairly heavy user, and by the time I get home I've still 30-50% left!

I use the internet a lot, and have it bridged to my pb as well as listen to at least 90mins of music each day.
My previous phone was dying at around 4pm.

If you are using your device that much I suspect a OS upgrade will do little to help your battery. I have never seen a new OS greatly change battery consumption. It does cause over zealous exaggeration from some but in the end does little. Unless you have poor coverage changing from 3G to 2G/Edge will also do little.

The 9900 will have more than enough power for 95% of the people who buy and use it.
