You mean here: Leaked versions of BlackBerry 7.1 now available for most compatible devices! or Leaked/Beta OS?

I"m not sure I get it though....what does the device do when it gets to that certain set percentage? I wouldn't want it turning the radio off...

switching the radio off renders the phone useless, right? but this is a step in the right direction though....maybe soon, RIM will be able to find a way how to boost battery performance instead, rather than reduce phone functions/capabilities just to save battery power....

I get a great battery life from this leak even without enabling the battery saving mode. I used to get about 6% hr and now I get 1.7 % hr. Huge improvement.

Bettery kinda suck 10pc/hr in device analyzer. Rim gotta do something abt this... They should be happy that ppl are using bb so much till they have battery problem. Gets by a day barely. 503 was the best for bTtery but dnot as good as 7.1

Battery saving mode does not switch the radio off. I tried this feature to be on all the time, regardless of the battery life left. Like the others, I don't know also what this feature actually does.

However, when i was on battery saving mode, my battery lasted less than 24 hours. After 14 hours, i was down to 30% battery, which on .205, i should be around 50%.

So yesterday, I turned the feature off. I have not been on battery saving mode since i took my phone off the charger at 7AM. It's now 10AM, 27 hours after my last full charge, and my phone is at 15%.

I will go back to battery saving mode again after i fully charge this today if there is a difference. The OS might just have been settling in. I have been on this OS only a few days, 4 days, i suppose.

What are you doing to get it to 10%/hr? If it idles with just the cell radio running at much more than 1% you have an issue you need to fix. Unless you got your phone in an alley, you should still be under warranty.

I'm having a problem. I installed the 7.1 os leak .267. At first the leak saved me a lot of battery. I was getting a discharge rate of 1-3% today and yesterday, I'm getting an even higher percentage. Bad battery you think?

I'm also using the battery saver, I have it to always on.

EDIT: I guess I'll keep this thing plugged in at work too, boss is cool with it.

My first time to load leaked OS. installed this OS ver and it is going well, wifi-hotspot enabled for Globe Telecom Philippines. The battery saving mode is there, but i dont see any difference from my previous official OS of 7.0.353, it chunks more battery and it drains faster, but im loving the hotspot service anyway! and another issue is that the sensor is not working when you have someone over the phone, it doesn't dim, til your ear gets warm.

My friend is using the previous leak ver .205, and said that it has better battery life, and hotspot enabled too. Will try that leak OS later.

May be an app you use causing this because I get 2%/hr with maximum drain rate I could get is 6%/hr, which is no where close to 10%/hr. What was your day like in terms of number of phone calls, emails, BBM/texts, etc? Did you play a lot of games on your phone?

I've had it on all day and most of the godd*mn day it's been idle because I was at work for 9 hours. Once I was done work, I had freaking 20% left, and my phone was off the charger at 10am. Bullcr@p, I wish I had my 9700.

What the heck kind of drain is 4.51% per hour when the godd*mn phone is IDLE?!?!

I am always using it. Browsing or checking market. Some phone calls. Constant bbm.. I had better battery wih 503 and 580.. About 6pc drain.. Now i go from 4pc to 14pc... Average abt 9pc. No apps other than bloomberg and blue. Block radio access of other running native apps via security setting...

Personally, I dont see any significant difference between enabling battery saving and turning it off. In fact, sometimes for some weird reasons, I am getting worst battery life with battery saving turn on.

Support chinese and other asian character for display
But it doesn't support the input
Meaning you can read all the asian characters, but you can't input them.
