I also just discovered I have that same bug. Even with the extended battery, same thing. I guess I'll wait patiently until a leak or official release hits so this can be all overwith.

I can't imagine how you guys use your phones. I always got a full day to a day and a half of battery life out of even my high-end Android (Samsung Galaxy S II). If this 9900 I just ordered does any worse I'll be so severely disappointed and disgusted. This is one of the VERY FEW areas that BlackBerry has ever trumped any other phone.

Previously on .540 I was having good battery life but not anymore
Using browser for around 50 minutes results in decrease in battery life of 15% sometimes even 20%

It appears that more people on the forum are shocked to hear of someone having great battery life rather than the reverse. I'm considering jumping ship to the 9810.

So far after deleting facebook and with a few hoops, getting it on my 9700, the battery life has been quite better to be honest. I'll have to see how that goes and just bring the extra wifi only device with me to check anything periodically.

I haven't done any serious testing on this yet but USB charger seems to help vs. wall charger.

From what I have read, you will be lucky to get a full day with heavy use. Shouldn't have much effect on most, as many of us charge our phones nightly anyway.

Personally, I think the days of 2-3 days between charges are gone. Phones are much more advanced these days, and require more power to perform.

If it can last one full 12 hour span of heavy use... I'd be happy.

I have to agree, I think USB charging is MUCH better. I believe it charges slower, too, and thus better for the battery all round...

my new battery showed signs of being the answer to the problem, got 17 hours from one charge whilst tethered to my new playbook, however for some bizarre reason over the following few days it worked its way back down to around 12 hours again, so yesterday i had to charge the bold a 2nd time in 1day.

this really isnt what I want from a phone.

12 hours of medium-heavy use yesterday thanks to 540. First time that's happened.

Anyone tried the 7.1.0.190 yet? Heard that is supposed to be the fix for the batt lifetime problem. Ive sent the phone in to have it checked out to make sure it's not a lemon since it's not respinding to and OS uograde for batt life improvement therefore i cant try that.

    On the 7.1.0.190 since yesterday.

Not at work so ittle use but it is idling on 3G and Wifi at 0.6% per hour after a couple of battery pulls and less than 24 hour after install so seems to be promising.

Also the 100 to 92 battery meter bug has gone.

    Anyone know where it is?

I'm on an official .858 release and I've been having no problems with battery life thus far. I can easily go 1.5 to 2 days without plugging in, but I normally plug in overnight anyway just so I don't have to resort to using the car charger the next day.

Medium usage... For me I do medium-heavy texting, minimal BBM, medium Facebook and Twitter, medium app usage. Facebook, Twitter, BeReader, Vlingo, ScoreMobile and BeBuzz are some of the apps that are always running.

So you are going to .190 from which OS? And what sort of drain rate were you getting before going there?

Was previously using the .585/.540 Hybrid.

Battery is same on idle as the Hybrid and after a mornings use in a poor signal area with over 12 calls getting 2.5%.

Also getting a 2G signal in a building where previously all I got was SOS.

All in all the new 7.1 seems slightly better than the Hybrid which for me was the best OS I had used so far.

another strange although very pleasing experiance, I had my 9900 swapped over by Vodafone due to unaceptable battery life.
I charged the new battery for about 20 hours as a burn in charge.

Today I took it off charge at 7am, ive had a couple of short calls, listerned to a few voicemails, viewed a few short video clips, a couple of txts and emails and as of 23.00 I have 50% life left, so effectively this charge could last for 32 hours.

I greatly dought this amazing battery life will last, prey it does but It leads me to wonder how battery life can deteriate down to the 10-12hours ive been getting.
