I was on 261, now on 503. Honestly don't see a huge battery improvement. 10-15%. Been about 4 days now.

    My daily usage is
    2-3 hours of calls
    20-50 emails
    50-100 bbms
    1-1.5 hrs of Browsing
    30 mins of social scope.

    Setup is 2g w/o gps.

Stats are 12-15 hrs of life with avg discharge between 8-11%.

    Would 540 work better?

I have been on .540 for about 40 hours.

As it is the weekend very light use, mostly on idle.

I now have 69% battery left with a discharge rate of 0.8% per hour.

Won't get a proper opinion until back working tomorrow but it sure looks promising so far

I'm good with 503. And sometimes you don't know you have a "bug" till a newer OS gets rid of it :-)
So, what bugs did it get rid of?

To be honest, .540 came out so soon after .503 I think that it will be very difficult to compare battery life on the two.

Best conclusion seems to be that both are a considerable improvement over previosu OS builds.

I wasn't a fan of .503 (using the leaked version, not official), so I went back to .440 (Stable build IMO) I downloaded .540 on Friday and Installed Saturday morning. Haven't really noticed a big difference in power consumption. I am using two new apps I haven't used before and one of them seems to be killing my battery. Will test for a few more days before I vote, but really I can't see that much of a difference between 503 and 540.

    503..
Connected to wifi for 8 hours
    Lots of bbm
    Moderate texting
    Lots of browser
    A few youtube.

90% when woke up. Disconnected the night before and used it for a while.. By 1pm with this usgae, at 70% by the end of my day with continued use like this, browser usage and 10 or so youtube vids and wifi, sent lots of pics on bbm. I ended up with about 30% at 8pm.

What bugs? The only bug i have yet to encounter is the "bricking/nuking" of the device and this issue has already been addressed by RIM. They said they are actively working on a software update. My battery life has gone better and better with every OS.

I've noticed in .540 when I reboot my phone sometimes I get an old fb notification and it happens everytime I reboot the phone the old notification comes back. In .503 it didnt have this it gets annoying after a while but I can live with it and also .503 battery seems betetr than the .540 but I dont think the os has settled down yet

Anything new will always have revisions... That's the same with anything.. As a rule I almost never buy the first release of a new generation, but with the 9900 I couldn't help myself

As for .503 to .540, I'll be downloading .540 to install tonight... From my previous build (.474) up to .503, I saw a huge increase in battery life with my regular use. Will vote after a couple of days of .540 testing.

    Installed .540 Friday

First real day of business use since install, out and about with Blue tooth on for Hands Free in car, 12 calls, half a dozen e.mails and the odd text.

MeterBerry showing discharge rate of 2.5% per hour.

Seems to be a good build both battery and operatition wise to me.

Running .540. I just went 46 hours between charges and I still had 39% battery left when I plugged it back in early this morning. For the weekend I averaged 1.6% hourly drain. I've got the screen brightness set at 30%, WiFi and GPS on, and bridged to the PlayBook 24x7. Usage is lighter on the weekends than during the week, but it still got used plenty. Today is the first day I've got a good H+ signal (and the bridge browser is once again screaming), so we'll see how well it holds up today after a full day of being beaten on.

About the same batt life. Actually I don't pay that much Attention to battery level anymore since i can get a day and more.. It seems to get better with .540. There was this bug on .503 where new MSG is not shown if you are in that chat. Have to re open to show the new msg.
