Battery is a weird issue with me. I still don't have the phone, but there's so many people with good/bad battery experiences. What's the deal? Do some of you have a super battery or what?

We need an app to monitor battery life, depicting what the user does, apps they open, etc, and then the ability to upload the results. That would be awesome.

I've just moved to a 9900 from iPhone 4, and in comparison the battery for me is 2-3x better than the iPhone 4 roughly doing the same things.

The 9900 is what it is, You want awesome battery life go for a 9700 or summat, you want a great camera buy an SLR.

Think the point I'm trying to make is you pay your money and take your choice, if you don't like it........ don't buy it!!

Sorry, don't mean to go off on a tangent, but I found it funny you needed to self-censor the "bull" part of your word, but the actually offensive part was fine!

stock firmware had terrible battery life, but since my upgrade to .296, it improved by a lot.

My battery has been great so far. I'm not a super duty user but I work in an environment where cell blockers are in place so it constantly searches. Wifi is also on.
I'm still using .261 also.
As for the Camera... Can't pretend to care. I have an SLR for pictures and if I need something in an emergency it will be fine.

Hands down.... Best 'Berry I've owned.

I don't know. My wifes iPhone 4 goes through battery something fierce. She will have to plug in around lunch. When I had mine, I could go until mid afternoon, but I was still having to plug in before going home from work. 2-3x better? I'd agree. But as good or better I'd say is possible.

It has a good battery for what it is, that's for sure (iPhone). But I can see how this is possible from personal experiences. Just my .02 pesos

When I am using data my battery is draining REALLLLY fast, but general usage when not taxing the radio is standard and making it through the day.

bull**** apart, id say my battery on my 9900 was twice that of my HTC HD7. ive jsut got in from work and left at 7:30 this morning, and i still have 45% battery.

That includes 2 hours of listening to music (hour there and hour back) a good amount of time trawling this forum! about 30mins of calls, 150ish texts, watched a couple of music videos, 2 or 3 pictures and about 3 hours of general internet and facebook use!
on my travels home it also involves alot of cell tower changes as i get 3g, gprs, edge on some kind of cycle as i pass the different villages.

my previous phone would normally be on charge by about 4pm with similar usage

Off the charger at 7:50 am and with moderate (bbm,web,emails, video streaming) still at 70% at 2:00 pm

Well, my discharge rate is about 8.2%. Hardly used the thing and took it off charge at 11:30am and 2.5 hrs later I am down to like 78%. Only a few BBMs, a few text and a few web pages. Full signal and nothing running in the background.

I'm always a little suspicious when I read people's accounts of their daily phone usage - not because they're being intentionally dishonest, but because I don't think many people have accurate judgment in this respect. For those that say "I've listened to music for 3 hours, talked on BT for 2hrs, sent about 200 texts and 60 emails, an hour of gaming, 2 hrs of Facebook etc", I think if they saw an accurate breakdown of their actual use they'd be pretty surprised at how much less they'd used it. People are notoriously bad at estimating times and usually exaggerate wildly.

About 7 hours in and I'm at 55% with moderate-heavy use. not great but not bad.. hopefully it does get better though.. i'm confident it will, that 45% was with a bunch of restarts and app installs which i won't be doing every day going forward.
