    Why i cant select only 2G in my mobile network ? I only have two options: 3G / 3G & 2G

Why?? In my old 9700 i had two options: 2G / 3G & 2G, so i can select only 2G for battery conservation.

    Thanks.

Some carriers lock down the facility to swap to 2G only on some handsets.

I had a Voda E72 that only had 2g/3g OR 3g only, no option of 2g only. I debranded the handset to get 2G only selection.

I'm really keen to try 503. Thing is my phones just a few days old, don't wanna brick it. Do I follow the standard install? Delete vendor.xml & run loader?

Also, how do I measure battery discharge?

Off the base at 7am. One hour talk. Bluetooth, wifi, 3G-H+ on all day. Full day of emails and surf, checking security cams. It's almost 6pm. Batt holding at 60%. Good enough for ME. :-)

Can you confirm whether the trackpad and navigation backlights fade or not (ie. With the original OS they used to fade out but now they just blink off if that makes sense)?
    It does...

Am I the only one seeing worse battery life? I am usually at about 50% by 8 PM EST. Today after updating last night, I am 29%. No change in usage.

I was going to start a new thread asking if anyone else noticed a dramatic improvement in battery life, but I guess someone. Beat me to it. Regardless I can also confirm much improved battery life, about the same as my old bold 9700

I wonder what they fixed or how they fixed it.

a few battery pulls in the next couple of days might help.....and overall, usage tends to differ day to day, even if we dont pay close attention to it. an extra call, firing up appworld just to peak, loading a hungry website, being in well-lit areas and having the screen go to max brightness, checking ur battery gauge constantly to see if theres an improvement .....they all add up.

give it a few days and then take the average

im seeing similar battery performance to .474, roughly 4hrs of screen time, which is good enough

Honestly, when I do an update. I usually do it at night. I keep the back cover off the phone and do batt pull after batt pull after batt pull after batt pull. I swear I must do a dozen of them and then a couple in the morning before I put the back cover back on and start the day. I'm not saying to do what I do (I'm a little OCD...LOL) but batt pulls are gooood after an update. do a few.

Guys, just wanted to confirm (base on my experience) that .503 definitely has improved the 9900 batt life.
No more having to set to 2G to conserve batt life.
As others have said, you'll need for the OS to settled and do a couple battery pulls.
Mine took 2 days to settled before I see the batt life improvement (almost doubled when on 3G)

Has anyone tried .540 yet? Does it have good battery life as well? Dont wanna update until it is confirmed. Been using .503 for the past few days and very satisfied so don't want to risk it yet.
