I keep trying to update to the latest 7.1 leak but it always hangs at the backup stage!!!
At first it was hanging at SMS messages, so I deleted all of them. Then it was getting stuck at Purged Messages so I deleted a bunch of those too. Now it's hanging at Recent Contacts. This is making me so mad, I don't know what's wrong.
On my blackberry, the black screen with the computer on the left and BB on the right is up, but there are no arrows between the two, indicating to me that nothing is happening, it's not even trying to backup.
Turns out I was just very impatient. I let it take its time today and after about an hour it finished backing up and proceeded to install. Currently in the restore process.
My response wouldve been to back up the phone seperately from the loader, and then restore after loading the new OS. The loader gives you an option to skip the backup/restore phase during install.
