Went out and bought the 9930 today. Been reading here on any issues for the past 2 weeks. Been away over a year. My last was the tour with the track ball. Was tired of my EVO and android in general. Must say this baby reminds me of my old curve but with steroids. The touch screen is just awesome. So, for someone who's been away for a bit, any recommendations on security, software for a good user experience? Already put my email accounts, adjusted my ringtones, and deleted programs I don't care for. Plan to look for a good weather app and a wifi hunter. Had these on my EVO. Appreciate any suggestions.

Welcome back! I just returned as well, but from iPhone and I only had it for two and a half months. The 9900/30 are awesome phones and I absolutely love mine.

My mistake. It was the Tour I had last. Thanks for catching that.

Same! Had the iPhone 4 for 2.5 mths while waiting for the 9900 to be launched. While some apps are run, it's frustratingly slow to use. The Blackberry wins hands down! Lovin' my 9900.

I too had the tour on verizon for a year. then gave a droid X a chance for a year, could not type on glass to save my life so I am so glad to be back on the 9930.

The keyboard is 9/10ths of why i decided to return. The remaining 1/10th is for the satisfaction that I can actually get my work done instead of playing games on my phone all day long =D

Ah I see. I didn't mean to be so flagrant. I was just puzzled. Enjoy your new Bold.

Its funny how we stray away but most of the time come back home. I too left about a year ago, tired of the "clock of death" and always looking for a better leaked operating system. I have been watching the new Bold sense it was released and have been impressed with Rims improvements. After a few androids and an iphone4 im back home with the 9930.

I got the thunderbolt back in june, returned that before the buyers remorse period was up. I gotta tell you though, even with how much I love this keyboard....the moment a droid comes out with an equal to or better physical qwerty...I'm out of blackberry forever. I am getting to the point where I seem to enjoy media on the go and tablets aren't the answer for me.

I hear you there. At first I loved the iPhone. Then the "app love" wore off and I really started missing my real notifications and instant email and messaging. As a media device the iPhone is great, as a communications tool I found it lacking. Glad to be back with a BlackBerry. And with my 9900 and my PlayBook media isn't an issue.

I strayed one time for a whole month and a half when the HTC Incredible came out, swapped with another person who just got the Bold 9650 and never looked back, I believe it is the dependability, themes and UI for my obsession with Blackberry.
