I'm on a 9930 with Verizon.

I never travel. Would one of these settings do anything for me as in saving battery life?

for VXW CDMA you would want 1XEV only. It shouldnt search for other networks with this setting

Good thread. I wanna know myself what other BOLD CDMA users have theirs set on. I have mine set on Automatic and 1XEV. This is on a Verizon Bold 9930.

mine came defaut at gobal. found it to be better on 1xev for sprint.

There's no reason to put it on global unless you're traveling overseas.
