In the past my phone has displayed the callers name if I have them in my phone book. Lately this dosn't happen. Just the callers number is shown. I recently encrypted my 9900 contents, could this have caused the change?

I've never encrypted so I am unsure, but one way to test is to unencrypt it to see.

If you have your contacts encrypted and the phone is in 'deep lock' with the padlock locked then no - you will only get displayed the number or 'call'

To re-enable the displaying of your contacts either extend the lock period, or don't encrypt contact's in the address book.

try remove account sync contact and add again.
