Is it possible for my carrier to put apps on their SIM cards? I've tried using BBHTools and BB Desktop Manager to remove these apps but neither of them detect them. I don't use them at all and I'd like to get rid of them if possible. I'd assume the transfer rate of a SIM is very low so it could possibly be slowing my phone down too. Ever heard of this? I'm on Rogers and I've got a 9900 that I've unlocked.

    No.
Those aren't apps anyway, they're service book controlled links to download the apps. You can't permanently remove them because they'll return as soon as your carrier pushes their service books again.
Do what the rest of us do... create a new folder, name it Junk, move them all into that folder and hide it. Sorted.
