For those users who (still) have a BBOS 7.1 device (are there any others than the 9900/9930?) BlackBerry has released an upgrade to the very useful Application Resource Monitor (ARM) which monitors battery and other resource consumption, fragmentation of memory and other system activities. This utility, when run, is very useful in addressing applications that, one might think, aren't really "running" and therefore shouldn't be the reason why battery life is so short (compared to the 9700, and even the 9800 for those so familiar).

I know that, within hours of having installed the previous version, it found a utility (the guilty unnamed, this time) that I never really used. Deleting this offender resulted in two to three times more battery life, such that now I can make it through at least a day without a charge on my 9900, if not two.

Get it, if you so need, today!
