Hi, I have on odd issue with by Blackberry 9900 Bold Optus version bandwidths 3G- 1,4,8 running 7.1bundle 2940. I cant send or receive MMS. My texting works OK, calls are OK, and I can gain internet access via LAN, but not via Optus bands, but I can turn on its Hotspot and access the internet via a tablet or Ipad using the Optus Blackberry handsets hot spot. I have tried a variety of APN's and am currently set at APN "CONNECT" My provider says its a phone issue. Any ideas about MMS and Internet access issues please, or a method of manually setting up an APN gateway perhaps? any input appreciated

Have you enabled MMS in your text settings (mine are both set to always)? IIRC there is a prompt when you first start the phone.

I presume you have BIS? You need it in order to get the proper service books. My first suggestion if you have BIS would be to get your service books resent. Here's a tutorial, if you need it: How to resend service books to my BlackBerry Bold 9900 4G

If you don't have BIS, or nothing else works, I've written up the "manual method" for enabling MMS over at the BlackBerry support community forums. https://supportforums.blackberry.com...S/td-p/3067590 It's fairly involved, but it works.

Hi, i am having a little trouble with HEX edit. Is there any chance you could edit an MMS Config file and send it to me at gavinm at exemail com au with the following Optus service book edit-

    MMS APN / Technical Settings

    Name: Optus MMS
Home Page / MMSC: http //mmsc optus com au 8002/
    APN: MMS
    Primary / MMS Proxy: 61.88.190.10
    Port: 8070
    MCC: 505
    MNC: 02
    Auth Type: PAP
    APN type: mms
MMS Protocol (For Android 2.1 or higher):WAP 2.0

Once I have this file edited I should be able to proceed.

    regards

    Michael

I'm working 7 days a week right now, so I don't really have time to edit service books for others. You'll have to just experiment with the service books until you get it right. That's what I did.
