Hello everyone first time ever to post thread, anyway !

i have iphone 4s on att prepaid and since it causes problems all the time , try to change to q10 or 9900.
BUT unfortunately im not eligible for monthly payment and have no hard crush on q10, so thinking of get used 9900.
So all the plans verizon and sprint(where offers with new 9930) have is within 2-yr contract and over $90 per month and down payment of $100.
im trying to save my money and dont want to spend too much on monthly bill. Att prepaid that im using is $60 with almost 5G data.

since bb9900/9930 needs bis data, does anyone have bold 9900 or 9930 on att or t-mobile prepaid?
please let me know whether you do simply text and call or find another way to get bis with prepaid plans?

    Thank you sooooooooo much

    First off, welcome to CrackBerry.

I don't know about AT&T, but you can use a 9900 and older BlackBerries on T-Mobile prepaid. It's no extra cost on top of the $50 minimum plan that you have to get. See here.

hey, may not be help as I am in Canada, however, I am using my 9900 on Virgin prepaid and it works fantastic... All apps I use work properly... I'm have 500 mb on add on for data and only use about 80% of it. Total cost I pay monthly is $60...

You can use a 9900 or 9930 on either prepaid or postpaid. For a complete data experience, you will need a BIS plan, which prepaid plans may not always include, or may charge extra for over regular smartphone data.

And you can also use at least the Verizon 9930 on GSM carriers, for it has a SIM slot. In North America, you'll be stuck on 2G, but in Europe and other places that use the 2100 and 900 MHz UMTS bands, you will get 3G.

I know you are on a budget, but concider getting a used BB10 instead. They are years ahead of 99x0 and even though app selection is not on par with iOS, you will find many, many more than for the old BB99x0.

    Folks,

I've got a BB 9930 on Selectel (Verizon mvno) $75 annual plan (2000 minutes talk, 1500 text) with a $10 flex card for data ($.05/mb). I have the anworm/TCP service books installed. Data, browser, text, and mms work. Of course anything BIS related doesn't. I use Logicmail for email. I like BB build and quality, just don't like paying alot for features I don't use.

Just wondering how Logicmail is working out ?
Had used it in the past and it was always disconnecting.

Logic-mail works differently on the 9900 as compared with the 9000 or 9300. It seems flaky and i have to shut it down after reading email or it won't get new messages. Resource monitor will also shut it down regularly. I've also not been able to get SMTP working on it so i can read mail but not reply.

    Folks,

Yes, logicmail is "flaky" on my 9930. Sometimes it works fine, other times I need to shut it down and restart it.

One other neat feature of the 9930 is I also have an TruPhone sim card in it (it's a world phone). I unlocked my 9930, so I can switch to GSM if I don't have a Verizon signal. TruPhone runs off of the AT&T and T-mobile networks. Pretty cool. Data does not work on the GSM side but calling/texting does.
