Since it reads: "PRE-ORDER LISTING STOCK ARRIVING AUGUST 2011" I am certain that if this is true, we here in North America will get the phone before that.

I could be totally wrong, but doesn't North America usually get devices at least a month or more before the UK or Europe or Aisa? I'm going by the Playbook, which was released in NA 04/19/11 and the UK won't be getting it until 06/19/11 two months later, and the RIM press releases from the last few years, seems NA gets 1st dibs, followed by the other world areas.

This one still says OS6.1 on it.

Either way, not out yet. Pre-Order, and I bet they don't even know when its coming out.

Nope... the 9700 and 9780 were both released in Europe a few weeks before anyone else got them.

Wow...NO facts, only smoke and mirrors well, the US released the Bold 9780 on 11/22/10 (fact: Crackberry.com release date) Bold 9700 11/02/09 (fact:Crackberry.com) oh and Philly, another FACT: Playbook release 04/19/11 North America...UK maybe? 06/19/11 a full THREE MONTHS later. You don't have to answer back, simply because you won't have facts to back up your whole UK and Europe gets BlackBerrys before North America...FACT: THEY DON'T! At best, they get them at the same time. But again Philly boy if I'm wrong, just prove me wrong.

This does generally seem to be the case with gsm devices, canada seems to get them at the same time as the usa and rogers carrier testing seems to be shorter than that of at&t or t-mobile so they end up with an earlier release date.

as you can see on this site, retailers often get devices a few days after launch. i ordered a playbook in uk and got it on april 28th... paid 450€...

the rim guy i met last week in vienna said there are 250 playbooks in austria. only 25 through the dev-offer...

all you guys in us/canada. if we want a device, we get it. we may have problems finding a eu-charger or having troubles with warranty...

It seems that way. AT&T are more strict with their testing, whereas Rogers does some testing and releases their BB's earlier than the US.

Yes, Rogers was the first carrier to release the Bold 9000. I recall AT&T delayed the release a couple of times because they wanted RIM to do some software changes. I think one of them was disabling the ability to switch from 3G and 2G to 2G only or 3G only. But a many months later after customers were complaining about dropped calls, they got RIM to add that feature back on.

A pre-order isn't a purchase. It's that you've pre ORDERED...the US release date was 11/02 sooo you said the 3rd...beat you by ONE day (and Rogers beat both maybe by a few days earlier)

Phill's link clearly states the release date as October 28th, which would indicate earlier than Canada/USA. I, for one, take his information as FACT. Your earlier post said PlayBook launch of April 19 vs UK's launch of June 19 as a FULL 3 MONTHS earlier made you less credible. No offences here but I'm just stating FACT.

FACT: Playbook release 04/19/11 North America...UK maybe? 06/19/11 a full THREE MONTHS later.

I would never purchase anything from a website that states in its terms and conditions, "we cannot be held responsible for any units that have been damaged in transit", and that items may only be returned if they are "re-saleable" and the packaging hasn't been damaged (which may or may not include cutting seals to open it).
