Is there an alternative to the Blackberry brand charging pod? The Blackberry one is pretty bad - setting the phone in the pod so that it will charge is kind of like hitting a hole in one. If it's not perfectly aligned, forget it. TIA.

Saw one on-line somewhere that also charged an extra battery. Google is your best friend. :>)

Not a charging pod as such, but the sync cradle made for the 9700 fits the 9900, even if you have the phone in a gel case

You can use it at your desk to sync or just on a night stand to charge in bedside mode.

It kinda floats above the base supported just by the microUSB plug, but very secure... until a purpose-made one comes along...

Within a month or so Seidio will make pods for 9900 as they made for about every BB device in the past, good thing about their pods is you can use it with their commuter case. I'm using their product for my Bold 9700 and can't be happier.

OEM Charging POD works great for me. I like the slim factor and it goes right in every time. That's why it has a tab that fits into the back of the 9930. To each his own though.

    lol. Yeah could be.

But if you had a 9700 with a cradle, would you throw the cradle away or use it with the 9900?

I'll tolerate her looks... because she has a nice personality

There are already several 3rd party units for sale. eBay and possible Amazon sell them. The OEM works good for me and have had no trouble

I disagree about the pod. Works great for me and I have had no problems getting it seated properly everytime.

It is just a matter of putting the device into the pod fully and it works just fine.

The OEM works fine for me as well. It almost feels like there's a magnet on the charging points that keep the phone seated in the cradle? It doesn't feel like it's going to fall out easily.
